  • Books and Cozy Nooks!

    Funded Sep 5, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donations! My students absolutely love the lights, new books, carpet, and shelf. It has made our room so cozy with easy storage. When my students saw the materials they were so excited! The books are used daily for reading independently and in small group lessons. The string lights make the room have such a warm appeal. We feel so appreciative of these materials and a new carpet to sit on. Thank you for your kindness and generosity! These materials are used daily for students in grades k-2 learning English.”

  • Easel Does it!

    Funded Feb 14, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donations. The easels, markers, and tabletop pocket chart will be so helpful as I support my ESL students in grades k-2. My students were so excited to use the easel in a small group setting. It allowed them to take turns writing in sounds, letters, and words.

The pocket chart has picture cards and letter cards that provide ample opportunities for students to build and blend sounds. The cards can be easily flipped so students can review changing the middle vowel with words that have the same beginning and ending sound. The picture cards allow students to learn new words in English and get a better understanding of word meaning. These tools will be used daily across the curriculum and we are thrilled to have them1”

  • Hands-on Math with ESL Learners!

    Funded Jan 26, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous donations! Math is probably best learned as a hands on approach. To do this, students need access to manipulatives and visuals, especially ELLs. The large number line magnetic poster has been so helpful for my first and second grade students. It allows them to visually see and touch the number line as they add and subtract 2 digit numbers.

My kindergarten students and first grade students love the addition and subtraction See and Solve math board. It allows them to stack the beads to make simple equations and they can self-correct their work by counting.

The wipe off 100 boards have been used with grades k-2. They have a chance to look for and identify numbers. They can also use these to sequence numbers, skip count, compare numbers, add and subtract. The ten frame and number line has allowed students to use various strategies and visualize the problem. Thank you so much for these materials!”

  • Phonics Phanatics!

    Funded Jan 2, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous donations! Phonics is so crucial in k-2 and any and all supports are needed for students to read and write successfully. The two-syllable words writing game is such a fun way for students to review reading. The vocabulary journals are used daily for Shared Reading and it allows students to really gain understanding of new vocabulary words from the stories they are reading.

The games are wonderful for review. The word building game requires students to fill in the beginning, middle, and ending sounds. It is a great way to segment sounds and has been used a lot so far! The phonics and Rhymes book is a way that students can work to identify digraphs, blends, and vowels in a story.

Thank you for allowing my students to work on their phonics skills with this new and exciting materials!”

  • Developing the English Language With Social Emotional Learning

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donations! This project has given my students an opportunity to use reading, writing, speaking, and listening to better understand feelings and emotions. The story "Fill a Bucket" has given my students the background knowledge needed to understand what "Bucket-Filling" means. They absolutely loved the story and learned critical SEL skills.

The Social-Emotional Photo Library allows students to use picture cards to have meaningful discussions. It gives students the opportunities to discuss categories like feelings and emotions, problem solving, working together, good manners, families, and positive character traits. The Feelings Emotion Slider is a great way for them to tell me how they are feeling and the it allows them to learn and recognize emotions. They will sliding the bar! The Social-Emotional mix and match cards allow my students to read prompts and then identify a feeling from that card. This has been so helpful for them

Finally the Grab and Write Box is such a fun way for students to reach in, grab a card, and discuss the card with peers. It has opened up such valuable discussions! It focuses on understanding others, understanding myself, self control, and making good decisions. These materials are used across grades k-2 and they absolutely love them. Thank you for these materials!”

  • Learning Our Letters...Hands-On with the Alphabet!

    Funded Dec 8, 2021

Thank you so much for your generosity! My students absolutely love the materials. We have been working hard to learn the alphabet and the hands on materials make learning fun and engaging. The magnetic letter builders allow students to connect the magnets at any angle to make all capital and lowercase letters. They also need the fine motor skill practice. The touch and read cvc word cards are used daily during small group instruction. These cards have been so helpful for all students to become independent readers. The alphabet practice sought mats are a fun way to reviews the letter of the week using play dough. The letter writing books are used everyday to review all previously taught letters.

We are so grateful for such amazing materials to help us learn our alphabet and write letters. Thank you for your support and helping us reach such academic success!”

  • Storing Words in My Brain and My Chair!

    Funded Aug 19, 2021

Thank you so much for the magnetic story board and the chair pockets. These chair pockets are used everyday to hold all my students supplies. They can simply reach behind them and grab their materials easily with stopping to walk to a supply area. It allows them to keep their own supplies in their pencil cases so they don't need to share any supplies. The magnetic story board is used daily to practice reading and creating new sentences. They love to make sentences and read it back to a partner.

When my students walked into the classroom and found their chair pockets they couldn't stop smiling! They love keeping their supplies in reach of them all day. Thank you for your generosity to our classroom!”

  • Unstoppable Virtual Learners

    Funded Sep 16, 2020

Thank you so much for your generous donations! This year has been of of the hardest ever for me as an educator and for my students as they started kindergarten for the first time. Many of my students have limited supplies at home and these whiteboards and erasers have made such a difference this year. It allowed them to write their words, letters, and numbers as they followed along each lesson. My students are learning virtually from 8:30-3:00 daily so all tools are essential and appreciated to make the progress needed for first grade. The chart paper is used everyday so I can provide the visual support they need for lessons and hang the chart behind me.

When. I told my students about these whiteboards and erasers they were so excited for new supplies to use at home. Thank you for giving me and my students the tools we needed to make this virtual experience as meaningful as possible!”

  • Bench for Busy Readers!

    Funded Jan 10, 2020

Thank you so much for your generous donations to our classroom! We spend so much time in our classroom and it's very important to make it as warm and inviting as possible. This bench is a favorite for my students and they love to get comfortable with a book. It completes our library and allows students a space to store books, materials, or even a stuffed animal to read to. When they first got to sit on it in the library they were so excited to have a comfortable spot to work independently besides the carpet. They were smiling from ear to ear, so excited for this comfortable bench to sit on. Thank you for making our classroom an inviting space! We use the bench everyday!”

  • Big Books for Big Readers!

    Funded Aug 14, 2019

This project has put high quality literature into my classroom allowing my students access to big books for shared reading! These books are used throughout my literacy block. I have started to read some as we just kicked off the school year and my class is already loving finding sight words in the text. It's so easy for them to point out sight words they see in big books with large font size.

My students also love choosing a book of their choice everyday as they practice reading the pictures in the book and retelling what they see. This is the first step to reading! These stories make their faces light up and they love to make predictions as we read together. Thank you for giving my class these sets of incredible text to use everyday as they begin to read! We are so grateful!”

Many of my students have never been to a pre-k setting and therefore my classroom is their first experience at school. In order to maximize their social skills , my students sit at tables to support cooperative group learning. As a result of this seating the students do not have space to store their materials for easy access. By providing my students with chair pockets to store their materials they will be able to quickly and easily access their learning materials and writing tools to participate in daily activities. This project will have an immediate positive impact for my students by increasing their time spent in their cooperative learning groups with their materials.
