  • Back to School Snack

    Funded Aug 14, 2024

Today, I asked my students to help me "unbox" some items. They immediately jumped at the chance to help me (as they usually do). They were beyond estactic when they discovered all the wonderful healthy snacks they had as an option to try. Now that we're back in school and our room is stacked with snack, my students will be able to remain focus on doing their very best. They will not have to worry about being hungry and take comfort knowing what that they will something to hold them over for a little while. Once again thank you for supporting my students.”

  • Nourished Bodies Helps Nourish Young Minds!

    Funded Sep 26, 2023

It is with an abundance of gratitude I have for the generous donations that you all have given in order to support my students. The purpose of this project was to have a variety of snacks for my students to select from when they feel hungry before or even after lunch time. You have made it possible to help fuel their little bodies in order to help fuel their minds for learning. Not only have you provided a plethora of snack options but you have put smiles on my little ones' faces. Thank for blessing my students!”

  • Bite Back Hunger

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

My students were extremely excited to know that our project was funded. They were even more elated when the packages arrived at our school. My students even wanted to help open the boxes! With your help, my students have a variety of snack options to select from when they are hungry. Learning for them is more enjoyable and fun especially when they are not distracted by their growling tummies. So, on behalf of my students I would like to thank all of you for funding this project. • Staying Safe While Learning

    Funded Oct 4, 2021

I am so grateful and thankful for your generous donations. I feel so much at ease knowing that I have plenty of hand-sanitizers and tissues for my students to use. Also, I am constantly cleaning and wiping down the games, toys and surfaces in our speech-therapy room. I can't express how happy I am to have ample Clorax wipes to last for the remainder of the school year! In terms of the activities, my students working on phonics have been engaged in practicing reading words with the vowel pairs activity flash cards. Once again thank you donors for helping this year to be a safe, clean and a productive learning environment.”

  • Minds Ready and Set to Go!

    Funded Dec 3, 2019

I am so appreciative that there is a platform for people who want to make a difference in the lives of children. These items have been such a wonderful blessing to my speech and language impaired students. My pre-k students love using the farm animal puppet books and farm animal activity set. They have been working on improving their expressive language skills by labeling animals, colors and the sounds each animal makes. They also look forward to snack time when they get to eat animal cookies at the end of the speech session. My kindergarten and first-grade students enjoy the hands-on approach to decoding/ encoding words by using the Word Building activity. They look forward to seeing how many words they can spell and read, which is super awesome! I cannot begin to describe the excitement of the second and third graders when we utilize the story-telling activity during the session. They are working on sequencing story events and using more descriptive words in their writing. Not to mention how relieved I am for having an adequate amount of sanitizers and Kleenex tissues to last my students for the winter months. Once again thank you for helping to get my students' "minds set and ready to go!"”

  • Germs Be Gone!

    Funded Jan 24, 2019

I am so appreciative of your generous donations toward the Germs Be Gone project. My students were extremely excited to help me open the packages. They were just as thankful as I was for receiving cleaning supplies, hand sanitizers ("sanitizers" as my little ones call it), hand wash, Kleenex tissue boxes and paper towels. Now my students will have the necessary hygienic care to prevent the spread of germs during this cold season. I am especially thrilled because I have enough supplies to last for the remaining school year!”

  • Nourished Tummies = Nourished Minds

    Funded Nov 28, 2018

Firstly, I want to thank you for your generous donations towards the Nourished Tummies = Nourished Minds project. My students were just so elated to open the packages and see all the wonderful goodies. They were even more excited about the thought of having a wide range of snack choices! Some of my older students were so appreciative that they immediately wanted to know if they could make a card for the person who donated the snacks. I was just enamored at the fact that their immediate thought was of showing their gratitude. Thank you for inspiring hope, thoughtfulness and generosity in my students.”

  • Thinking Outside the Box

    Funded Aug 22, 2018

Thanks to your donations, my students are able to engage in fun activities that are geared towards improving their critical thinking skills. My 5th-grade students are currently using the Finding Evidence Comprehension Kit to work on making inferences based on non-fiction texts. They enjoy working together to locate evidence to support their educated guesses. My 3rd and 4th graders love the "Can Do! Reading" vocabulary activity. They enjoy participating in friendly competitions while expanding their vocabulary skill set! On behalf of my students and myself, we are absolutely appreciative of your support in helping to enrich and edify their growing minds!”

As a speech-language therapist, I am constantly exploring various methods to provide engaging and fun ways for students to work on improving their speech/language goals. Some of these goals are geared towards expressive language skills, increasing vocabulary, answering inferential questions and identifying main ideas. Students will be able to use the Accountable Talk Reading Discussion starters to assist in verbally expressing their ideas with ease about a topic during group discussions. Students who struggle with semantic skills will definitely benefit from the "Can Do!" Vocabulary game which will help expand their vocabulary use. In addition, the Making Inference Finding Kit, Carnival Context Clues, and the Main Idea Game will also be a great way to continue fostering problem-solving and critical thinking skills. These fun and engaging hands-on activities will help students with their expressive language skills as well as reinforce concepts that are imperative for academic success such as making inferences, identifying main ideas and using context clues.
