The materials I am requesting for this unit will help my students gain a deeper understanding of the importance of trees and nature. The forest animals will be used to discuss the types of animals in the forest, the tent will be used to show students the type of housing that is typically used in the forest, and the grill will be used to show students one way people cook food in the forest. At the end of the unit, students will be able to describe the parts of a tree, discuss the process of a seed turning into a plant, name things made from trees, name some animals that live in the forest, and discuss activities that can be done in the forest.
