Our students work incredibly hard from their first year in our academy to become environmentally conscience. Each year they acquire new skills that will help them become better global citizens. They learn about native animal conservation and about sustainability. They also grow their own food and prepare meals using their ingredients. Our students maintain a majority of our 12 acres of native gardens and food beds. In their 8th grade year students are tasked with creating a project that will be long lasting, that will have an impact on the campus and their community, and most importantly is environmentally sensitive. All of these projects are done solely with hand tools. These power tools will allow for larger and more durable projects to be implemented and installed. It will also increase our productivity and our reliance on other programs at our school.
