With the excitement of the eclipse still on their minds, now is a great time to let the kids build rockets to further that interest in space travel and exploration. The Estes solid fuel rockets fuel that excitement as the kids will build the rockets from a kit and be able to watch their creations soar. The kits have a variety of fin design, so the students can decide on what they think would work best and compare that with the other students' choices. They will see first hand how aerodynamics play a role in flight and effect altitude and speed. They will also see how important each step is in preparing the rocket for launch as well as the safety precautions needed to execute the "mission." As a side benefit, they will be able to show their individuality through their design, painting and decoration of the rockets. Not to mention the sportsmanship they learn while competing against the others to see who's rocket goes higher.
