  • Time to Replenish Supplies

    Funded Jul 12, 2021

My students were very excited to have a new pencil sharpener for the classroom. It is nice to have a classroom electric pencil sharpener for students to use. Students come into the room and sharpen their pencils quickly and are ready to go for class.

Another great supply that we received was Expo markers in a lot of fun colors. My students love to complete their math problems on their individual dry erase boards and now they have lots of fun colors to choose from. The erasers are great for erasing problems when students complete problems on the large classroom whiteboards.

Your generous donation of these much-needed classroom supplies was greatly appreciated.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Poole

  • Dull Dull Dull

    Funded Sep 28, 2019

Thank you very much for your generous donation to my classroom. The electric pencil sharpener is something that is used daily in each of my math classes. The students are now able to quickly use the electric pencil sharpener when they enter class instead of using their individual plastic sharpeners which usually end up spilling sending pencil shavings all over the floor. It is also very helpful to have a supply of pencils for any students who may need them from day to day. These essential supplies that are used daily have helped my students to be prepared and ready for math.”

  • It Is Cold Out There

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

My sixth grade classroom was so excited to see we received awesome games to play during indoor recess. When we have indoor recess the students get to choose what game they want to play that day with their group. All of my students really enjoy having the choice of playing a game when we have to stay inside for recess because of our cold winters in Chicago. The students are always disappointed when recess time is up and we have to put the games away. We are very appreciative of your generosity to our classroom.”

  • All Aboard the Facts Train

    Funded Dec 2, 2017

My students were so excited to see that we received a box of expo dry erase markers for our math class. The students use the expo markers daily in math class and enjoy using them instead of paper and pencil to complete their math problems. Thanks to your generosity my students will be able to continue working with white boards and expo markers to complete their math tasks. My class is able to use a variety of the expo colored markers to complete the problems and highlight important information.”

  • Dull Dull Dull

    Funded Dec 17, 2017

My students were very excited to receive a new electric pencil sharpener for our math class. It is always great to start math class off with a nice sharp pencil. The students know that they can only sharpen their pencils at the beginning of class, so they come in and go right to the sharpener.

Many of my students were using their own personal sharpeners and they would get dull and eventually break. Those students who still had a individual sharpener were sharpening multiple pencils at their tables every day. The new electric sharpener came at a very good time.

We are very grateful for the donation of a new pencil sharpener to our math class. A sharpened pencil can make all the difference.”

  • Fact It Up

    Funded Nov 23, 2017

My students were so excited to receive the new dry erase boards for our math class. The students are each assigned a dry erase board at their assigned seat in my class. Each student is very responsible for the board they are able to use during class. The dry erase boards are used daily by my math students.

Every class period we begin by completing four math problems for the day. My students love to complete these math problems on their dry erase boards. When students use the dry erase boards it makes it easy for me to see who completed the problem correctly and also I am able to show students on their boards where they made a mistake. Students are excited to hold up their boards during class when they have completed a problem.

The dry erase boards make completing math problems fun for my students. My students will continue to increase their math skills daily with the use of the dry erase boards.”

  • Responsible Citizens

    Funded May 12, 2015

Thank you so very much for donating to my Responsible Citizens project. ThinkCERCA teaches students how to: make claims, evaluate evidence, explain their reasoning, develop counterarguments, and choose words that will appeal to their audience. My students are enjoying using ThinkCERCA during class to debate topics and formulate arguments. My classes have improved their speaking and listening skills through peer-to-peer discussions from ThinkCERCA. Every student, regardless of their reading level has something unique to contribute to the discussions from the articles read on ThinkCerca.

Thank you for giving my students the opportunity to have an engaging experience in class using ThinkCERCA.”
