My students need hands-on materials to have a thorough understanding of concepts. I am in need of supplies to provide science labs for my students throughout the school year. We need a light and sound ball, circuit kits, wires and light bulbs to teach circuits and electricity. We will use the sound ball to show how electricity can move through the students and make a human circuit. The circuits, wires, and bulbs will be used to show how circuits work and which items are conductors and insulators to electricity. We need mirrors and a power source for our light optics box currently in our classroom. This will be a great way to teach light and its properties. We will use the power source to power the lightbox that is currently in the classroom. We will use the mirrors to show how light can be reflected. We are owl pellets and dissecting mats. These will give students an up-close look at how owls get energy from other organisms. The dissecting mats will help us to identify what animal's remains are in the owl pellet. What a cool way to show how energy moves through an ecosystem. All of these supplies will give each one of my students a hands-on experience when learning science. This is so important for my students, as most do not learn through listening and reading. They need hands-on materials and visual aids to help them grasp concepts and master standards.
