Literacy is the Key to Success!
Funded Feb 26, 2020Sadly, I write this from my home due to the quarantine caused by the Coronavirus. Unfortunately, my students and I are not together in the classroom, however, we attempt to connect via Google Classroom. It is certainly not the Kindergarten school year we all dreamed of, but we are making the best of the situation.
I must say, this project was a huge hit with the kids!!! The new centers were a much-needed addition to the older ones. They loved using each one and discovering different ways to learn from them. Smalls groups always run smoother when the center is engaging and exciting; this project checked off both those boxes.
Thank you for the donation and kindness shared through your generosity!!!
I hope this note finds you healthy!!!”

The Power of Art in Literacy
Funded Feb 26, 2020Sadly, I write this from my home due to the quarantine caused by the coronavirus. Although my students and I are not together in a classroom, we connect via google classroom. It is our new normal.
As soon as we are back in the classroom, the supplies that were sent will be quickly put to use! The children were excited to unpack the boxes and check everything out. It is always a pleasure watching their faces as I share the new classroom materials and we chat how we will use them.
I hope this note finds everyone healthy!!”

Live, Love, Learn
Funded Dec 4, 2019We are so grateful for the donations made to bring our project to fruition!
The children love using the felt board and each felt collection!!
They are used in math to help us with addition and subtraction. It has made learning much more fun. Each student gets a turn to be actively involved in learning, which makes learning new concepts easier.
They are also used in reading. Each student gets the opportunity to create stories and practice big words such as characters and setting. They love working in groups to show off new skills.
We are very thankful for generous donors!!!!”

Funded Apr 20, 2019My students absolutely love the pencil sharpener! There were squeals of excitement as I unwrapped the sharpener. It has become the top weekly job to get. Having sharpened pencils helps us to do our writing and math assignments. As kindergarteners, they are constantly writing our newly learned letters to make BIG words!!
And of course, sharpened pencils is a MUST for math! They sharpen pencils two times a day because they write SO much!
The sharpener has been very helpful with keeping large homework packets together and the tape has allowed me to hang student work throughout the room, which the kids love.
We are very grateful for your generosity!”

Funded Feb 22, 2019Your donation to our class was wonderful and we are very grateful for your generosity! Kindergarten days are filled with projects requiring glue sticks and our supply was running low. The number of glue sticks used by an average kindergartner in a school year is shockingly high! This donation has allowed us to continue working on projects and lessons for the remainder of the school year.
The dry erase markers were desperately needed. We use them daily for math and literacy centers and unfortunately, ours had dried up. The colorful markers are a great addition and the kids get excited to use them.
Thank you for the generous donation and you have made the students in Little School House #3 very happy!!”

Creativity Is Contagious, Help Us Catch It!
Funded Feb 22, 2019Wow is all I can say! The items donated have allowed creativity to flow. The students have enjoyed using ink pads to create new words while practicing letter identification. It has become a favorite center in a short amount of time. The other arts and crafts items helped us to create some fantastic characters. Using the buttons to add dimension and color was a hit.
The arts are an important part of our day. The students take pride in their work and being able to add pizazz makes them feel great!
Thank you for your kindness and know that our days are extra special because of you!!!”

A Good Book and a New Chair
Funded Nov 26, 2018The stools have been a wonderful addition to our classroom. The students have been using them during library time, center time and Guided Reading with me. The size is perfect for them and they love that they're so colorful.
They're light enough for students to move them to the various centers, then to Guided Reading with me.
Using them during instruction has been helpful. We arrange them into a half circle and the children face me while I teach. It has definitely improved small group lessons.
Thank you very much!”

Who Needs Pencils!
Funded Aug 21, 2018THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROSITY!!!
Your amazing donation has been a wonderful addition to our lessons. The dry erase markers are used daily during Math lessons and Literacy Centers. The petite yellow dry erasers are a perfect fit for little hands. Each morning students use the markers and erasers to practice writing their names. Seems like an easy task, but for five year old students, it's challenging. They love using the colorful markers to create the letters in their names; keeping it fun always makes lessons more engaging.
The students love the many color options and I enjoy seeing them be creative. The black markers seem to be a bit more popular with the boys. Using the whiteboards/markers saves a tremendous amount of paper, which is costly and better for the environment.
Math lessons are much easier. Each student sits on the rug with a whiteboard, marker and eraser in hand. It allows me to see their work very easily. They love knowing that mistakes can be gone in an instant; one swipe of the eraser and POOF! They truly love using the markers over pencils. It's something new and different; perfect for my Kindergartners!!”

Funded Aug 22, 2018THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROUS GIFT!!!
We love our bright orange lanyards!! They help everyone know our names and where we belong, which is important because it is our first year in public school. The orange color is perfect because our school color is ORANGE! We wore them all day for the first week of school, but now we wear them for special assemblies and class trips.
Oh yes, the paper is super helpful. Ms. Robinson uses it to make really cool worksheets for us. We get worksheets with all kinds of letters and numbers on them. We even get homework packets to practice writing our names all week at home; learning is super cool. The color paper is used for special worksheets and letters that go home to our parents. We love all the bright colors!!!
Thank you for caring so much about us and we are grateful that there are so many kind people in the world. Ms. Robinson told us that people gave money to buy these things for us........we want to get an education so we can get jobs and donate to little kids when we are older!!!!
Lots of HUGS from the students in room #3!!!”

Funded Aug 22, 2018My students are enjoying immensely the listening centers so generously donated to our classroom. Seeing the excitement in their eyes every time they try a new center is thrilling!! I truly think learning should be fun and engaging, especially for the youngest learners. Adding these new centers to the ones previously used, I am able to keep the listening center an exciting place for them. It's a challenging center, but students are able to explore and learn at their own pace, which makes it welcoming for them. Keeping them on task has never been easier with these superbly designed centers.
When I first opened the boxes, I had a slew of hands raised all wanting to be the first to try the new center. Their smiles and anticipation made me happy!! Introducing my students to wonderful learning experiences will hopefully create a thirst for more.
My students cycle through the centers daily. Each student gets the opportunity to work with a group of 6 children to practice and learn appropriate skills.
I want to thank you again for your contribution to my project. I will be forever grateful for making my students smile!!!
