Work, Fun, and Sensory Time
Funded Jul 17, 2023The many items that were donated to my class has helped my students tremendously. It has given me ideas to start workstations that include sensory, academics, and just plain fun. The donated stick glues have supported our future artist on our classroom bulletin board as well as an important Social Studies artwork during 911. Some of our workstations includes CVC activities with the CVC Gojmzo Wooden CVC Word Spelling Games that was donated along with the golf pencils for my students to write the words after they have built the words. I've also used the timer as a visual, so my students know when to start getting ready to clean up and get ready to transition to the next station.
I look forward to using the pop paint, but unfortunately behaviors have postponed some of my incredible ideas.
I'm including pictures of some or our incredible student's artwork and also with them working on some of the wonderful items that were donated. I'm very grateful for all the donations and my students thank you as well.”
With gratitude,
Ms. M. LeBlanc

Funded Oct 23, 2017My students, my assistant Mrs. Faiz, and myself would like to thank you for your generosity in purchasing a color printer for our classroom. If you remember when you were in school, everything you used were worksheets and you used pens and pencils to write with. Well, most of our students don't have a tight grasp to write with a pen or pencil, and most likely will not ever write words, but they do remember symbols and can match with the use of their eyes. The technology today is amazing, and our district has adopted the curriculum Unique Learning (n2y.com) to help our students who have Autism with ways to access the general education curriculum. Take look at some of the advantages that help us help our students. It allows us to spend more time engaging our students in valuable learning time by providing differentiated lesson materials, detailed lesson plans, standards alignments and evidence-based teaching strategies with data-driven results.
For us to provide valuable learning time, our materials have to be printed in color to give our students visuals to connect with. Every month Mrs. Faiz and myself print, laminate, and Velcro the materials needed to teach our students. Each month is a different theme. The month of January, is "Keeping My Body Healthy" and February is "Cultures Influence Communities". One lesson can be up to 30 pages. As you can see we print a tremendous amount of work for our students. Although we print most of the 30 monthly lessons that are available every month it is nice to have a color printer in the classroom when I do need an additional page and I can print it right away without scheduling when and where I can print in the minimal locations in our school where I can print.
I have uploaded pictures of what we print, laminate, and add Velcro to show you how the use of your donation is being used in our classroom. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”
With gratitude,
Ms. M. LeBlanc
