  • Third Grade Thrills

    Funded Nov 2, 2022

We are so excited to have magnets in our classroom to have hands on experience. This helps the kids to understand what they are learning about magnets. We also love learning with computers. Our chargers will help the laptops to charge when needed so we can expand the students knowledge on necessary math and reading skills! Also, we appreciate the art supplies and the magnifying glasses to explore elements in Science and games in Reading. Thank you so much for enriching our classroom. These tools will be used regularly.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Pain

  • Technology At It's Best

    Funded Oct 3, 2017

This technology has been such a blessing to my students. I'm able to use the new laptop computer in many ways. The students are able to use the removable touch screen to write and do lessons interactively from around the room by using the Chrome Cast to mirror on from the screen to the board. They can use this with a previous active inspire to write on the whiteboard(Promethean board).

I'm also able to individualize instruction with students that need more one on one back at the table with me. The laptop has been very beneficial for this. The mobility allows for me to be more effective with how and what I'm teaching as I am individualizing instruction and doing group instruction.

The headphones allow students who are struggling to be able to hear the stories aloud to enhance fluency, vocabulary, and word knowledge.

Thank you so much for giving to our classroom. The students are excited to be able to use our new technology.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Pain

  • Read All About It

    Funded Oct 9, 2017

The students are really enjoying reading from the Scholastic News. It is about great topics that enrich learning from social studies. It also has great objectives that assist with reading charts, graphs, diagrams. I also have noticed that this is a great way to encourage the love of reading!

The students have also had less distractions due to the study carrels. This provides a better environment when needed to keep focus. The pencils have also helped to provide a need for our classroom.

The globe has been an excellent addition to our classroom. It helps the students put things into perspective geographically. The students love to be able to look and explore the Earth with the globe.

Thank you so much for all you have done to enhance our learning experiences!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Pain

Technology is advancing each and everyday. I do my best to keep moving forward with technology in my classroom. Interactive boards are great but when we can make our boards interactive with a 2-in-1 laptop/tablet and a Chromecast it advances it more. It will allow me to move about my classroom and not be stuck to the front of my room. I will be able to cast my lessons on the board in my room and use the laptop/tablet to move about the room and write on it with the stylus to work as I move. This not only keeps the students engaged by handing the tablet to one of them to work problems for the class, but increases classroom management. The headphones will allow students to listen to stories in small group centers with using the headphone junction box with volume control for each set of headphones. In order for my students to get to a quiet area in my classroom, I need an extension cord to reach my CD player. My students love getting to listen to audio books. It really helps for my auditory learners.
