  • How I Got My Students to Read

    Funded Oct 27, 2017

Thank you so much for your generosity! Reading impacts students in many different ways, and the first step is finding materials that they connect to. With your donations, I believe we are miles ahead of that first step, and hopefully this will help my students become life long readers. We are very excited!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Miles

  • Learning English in Non-Conventional ways!

    Funded Oct 18, 2017

Thank you so much for your generous donation to my classroom and the school in general. I really appreciate the willingness of Sonic to help the communities affected by Hurricane Harvey. The materials donated will enrich the entire English department. Having my project funded so quickly, in its entirety truly made our week! The kids were excited. Many, many thanks!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Miles

Students have different ways that they learn. I noticed my students love watching educational videos and listening to music. Flocabulary materials will help students who are auditory and visual learners. The material on Flocabulary has raps for ELA topics that are catchy. Students will be able to use these in grammar, and writing. Having access to other materials such as BrainPop and BrainPop Jr. wwill help students who also need materials presented to them in different ways. BrainPop has instructional videos that are short enough for the hook of a lesson. Students will see materials from these sites in small group settings and whole group instruction. Hopefully, by listening to ELA topics, they will be able to remember them better. These materials will also allow me to differentiate learning in my classroom. I will be able to reach and impact all students in ways that suit them best.
