Imagine being 5, 6 or 7 years old and having to sit in a hard, plastic chair all day! That's a pretty difficult ask even for kids in the general curriculum. My students have severe autism, they require several movement breaks during the day to help them to focus their attention. Having seating options like the balance balls and balance stools will help them to self regulate and focus. They will still be participating in small group and individual activities and lessons, but the need for so many breaks will diminish.
