Learning spaces invite students to learn in a way that is comfortable for them. Our classroom is not big enough for many learning spaces. Having a few lightweight adjustable tables will allow us the flexibility of creating new spaces. We can raise a table to allow students to stand at the table comfortably while learning. We can lower a table to allow students to sit on the floor and work comfortably. We can remove tables easily, making enough space for students to use creative movement as a learning resource. This option is currently not available due to space limitations. In the Spring we always host a Poetry Cafe. The adjustable tables will make it easy to create enough space for our audience. All we have to do is fold them up and move them out of the way! Your generous donations will allow my students to have the flexibility of creating learning spaces that will not only enhance their learning but will increase their levels of retention. These learning spaces will allow greater creativity in the way lessons are taught. The tables can easily be moved to make room for a puppet theater, a stage for reader's theaters, a dance floor to reenact a book, a game floor for math, a gathering place for class meetings and the list goes on. Learning spaces bring back the FUN part of learning!
