My students are traveling, through a computer! They are on a race. Each group is racing to learn as much as they can about each country they visit as they travel around the world. At each stop the students participate in a virtual field trip in that country where they learn about the economy, government, recreation, imports and exports, the unique culture, and even learn how to calculate exchange rates! Having a Chromebook for each group means that they will be able to learn more while creating digital presentations to share with their classmates. Right now, the students are sharing an iPad and using library books. The three Chromebooks will enable my students to use their skills and expand their knowledge. The students will be able to use Google Drive to create awesome presentations and interactive displays to demonstrate their learning through real world experiences. These will also allow me to tailor my teaching to each student and his/ her needs and areas of giftedness.
