Room V-10 is a math classroom dedicated for students with special needs. Emerson Middle School boasts students with strong spirits but also a student demographic that is underprivileged. Ninety-three percent of the school comes from a lower-socioeconomic status. Support for this classroom will go towards instructional material to help bridge the gaps of skills that the student population is lacking. The students have an eagerness to learn but mastery in skills is a great challenge. Support for these students is critical so they may unmask their full potential. Many of these students come from broken homes and extreme poverty where they often hear and see negative situations. Our classroom provides a safe haven for students to feel at "home". Any support will be much appreciated!
