  • Positive Behavior Incentives and Classroom Basics

    Funded Feb 8, 2023

Thank you so much for contributing to this project! My students were really excited to see our classroom store restocked with some popular favorites. Students are able to "purchase" items from the store from points they receive for demonstrating positive behavior. I am really excited about receiving some of the cleaning materials in this project as our class was running low on items like tissues. I take pride in keeping my classroom space clean for my students and you have helped contribute to us maintaining a positive learning environment. Thank you for your support of public education.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Straus

  • Building a Classroom Library

    Funded Dec 30, 2022

Thank you so much for supporting this project. Two of the book series in this set were requested by students. One of my students really wanted to finish the Captain Underpants series and they have been able to pick up where they left off. The other series, Amulet, has been popular in all of my classes. I will likely need to order more of them to meet the demand! It's great to see students excited about reading and it wouldn't be possible without your contribution. Thank you for your support of public education!”

  • Building a Classroom Library

    Funded Feb 8, 2023

One of the best things about the physical space in my classroom is the large library that you have helped me build. The students in my classroom have hundreds of books that they can choose from to read during independent reading time or to take home with them. Some of the books in this project have been a big hit. I've seen one student check out nearly every single Naruto book I have and she was excited to see some of the new additions that were added when these books arrived. Thank you for your support of public education!”

  • Classroom Essentials and Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports

    Funded Oct 26, 2022

Thank you so much for supporting this project. My students have been excited to see our PBIS store stocked with goodies. One students was extremely excited to see Pokémon cards in the PBIS store but needed a few more points to be able to purchase them. I told him if he completed his classroom assignment, I would give him the points he needed and I've never seen a student write a five paragraph essay so ferociously! The trading cards and some of the other knick-knacks have really made some students' days! Thank you for helping to bring some positivity to my students and classroom.”

  • Building A Classroom Library

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

Thank you so much for donating to our classroom library. I can't express how much it means to me to see people support public education.

I am sharing my classroom space with another teacher this year. Both of the students in our classes have been checking out books to take home. It's really moving to see so many students excited about taking books home. Students will read when they find something that speaks to them. The joy that students have found in these books is testament to our responsibility to create more opportunities within our schools for students to access relevant literature. Thank you so much for helping to make this possible!”

  • Reading Voces Sin Fronteras: Our Stories, Our Truth

    Funded Sep 20, 2022

Thank you so much for supporting this project. I have been looking forward to teaching this book since last spring. Over the summer, I took a course to better understand the historical context of U.S. relations with Latin America and the impact of policy on immigration. I was really excited to teach this book as I had studied the subject matter and plan to use it next year. My students enjoyed reading the book and created narratives using the comic format found in Voces Sin Fronteras. This activity helped them incoporate literary techniques such as figurative language and dialgoue into their writing. My students really enjoyed Voces Sin Fronteras. It would not have been possible without your support!”

  • A More Relaxing Classroom

    Funded Sep 20, 2022

Thank you so much for supporting this project! Our district still is under a mask mandate and I've arleady gone through a pack of masks that was funded via this project. The tissues and other material has come in handy during the first few weeks of school. This week, one of my students was expressing that they were having issues focusing and staying in their seat. I was able to give them a Crayola sensory putty and that helped them refocus on their work. The marerial in this project will help students engage in their academic work and has created a more welcoming classroom space. I can't express my gratitude for your support of public education.”

  • Getting Ready for Next Year: Classroom Essentials

    Funded Jul 20, 2022

Thank you so much for supporting this project. This week one of my students stopped by my class in the morning to ask if they could borrow a pencil for their first period class. They took it with them but made a point in returning it later in the day. Little things are big and it makes all the difference to have extra pencils and expo markers. The material in this project will help me maintain my classroom space but will help students engage in their learning. My students know they can come to my classroom for supplies they might need because of your support. I can't express enough my gratitude for your support of public education.”

  • Building a Classroom Library and Classroom Supplies

    Funded Apr 7, 2022

Thank you so much for supporting this project. I set aside time in my class everyday for students to read independently and the books in this project expand the range of books that students can choose from. Students checked out several books from this collection as soon as I unboxed them. One student even finished one of the books by the end of the day. The books in this project reaffirm the notion that students will read if they have something that interests them. Thank you for supporting public education!”
