• Pencils, Tissues, and Classroom Basics

  It's crazy to think that we're already through the first month of school! Your support of this project helped so much with making sure things have run smoothly. The pencils and headphones are already being put to use. It feels like we're already in cold season as we've almost gone through these tissues!

  In the past, our school district gave each teacher $150 dollars towards classroom expenses. This funding was cut from the budget, which has placed an additional burden on teachers to support their students.

  It is my hope that through organizing and advocacy that we can help create a public education system that fully funds our classes and provides students with the education that they deserve. Thank you for supporting public educators like me!”

• Building a Classroom Library and Classroom Resources

  Thank you so much for your support. One of my students finished reading Concrete Rose last week, which is one of the books that was in this project. They read it every day during independent reading time. It was awesome seeing them read a book that is over 300 pages and some of their friends are reading it now, too. Reading can be contagious! The Lysol wipes arrived just in time and have been handy in keeping my classroom space clean for my students and myself during the winter season. Thank you for your support of public education!”

It's a time when they get to pick out something that they want to read about. A couple of weeks ago, one of my students took one of the books from this collection with them on our class bathroom break and continued reading it in line. Not only were the students excited to continue reading their favorite series like Dragon Ball Z and Heart Stoppers but they were excited to share them with their classmates. Reading can be contagious but without your support it wouldn't have spread.
