On a daily basis, we are using basic classroom supplies. We need crayons, markers, colored pencils and other basic classroom supplies. Our dry erase markers are used every day for mental math and formative assessments. Many of these markers dry out quickly. Our highlighters are used for highlighting text evidence when reading articles and answering questions. Most students use No. 2 pencils that I provide and need erasers when the eraser runs out. The art supplies that the students use are for projects that are created in class. Most students are only able to supply colored pencils, and when those run out, they are unable to purchase more. Many of the basic school supplies run out before the school year ends, and most families cannot afford to purchase more supplies. Most students even have a hard time purchasing supplies at the beginning of the year.
