• The Big Cats Need a Batting Cage!

  Thank you for your donation and commitment to our team! Our 2024 season begins this month and we are excited to get underway! We have been working since October, have recently done some clinics with different NYC high schools, and are really looking forward to this season.

  Having a small batting cage allows us to do some different drills and is just another way our program has continued to grow. It gives our student athletes another opportunity to hit, practice, and improve as they prepare for high school and beyond. Thank you again for your support!”

• Bronx Middle School Baseball Team Needs New Equipment to Succeed!

  Thank you so much for your contributions to our baseball team! We are nearing the end of our season and the equipment has allowed us to eliminate some of the barriers to our training!

  Our student athletes are always thankful for the resources we are able to provide to them thanks to your generosity. They are excited to keep working hard as we get into the stretch run of our season. Our record currently sits at 5-1-1, and we have some big games coming up before playoffs begin at the end of May.

  We hope to continue to have success on the field as we try and grow our program to give our South Bronx students as much opportunity as possible to learn and compete at a high level!”

• Bronx Middle School Soccer Team Needs Equipment to Win!

  Thank you for helping our soccer team get on the field this season! The Fall season is always a difficult one to fund, as the DOE is notoriously complicated in distributing resources to schools, especially in our district. Our athletics programs have been working on a nearly $0 budget, so the practice and game balls, along with other materials raised have allowed us to start our season strong and let our players focus on improving their game.

  We are all truly thankful for your contributions, as well as Donors Choose and their partners who have matched those donations. You have not only set us up for soccer, but also to get a head start on funding our Winter and Spring teams! Thank you always!”

• South Bronx Baseball Team Wants the Tools to Win!

  Thank you so much for your contributions to our baseball team. As you may know, baseball requires a ton of equipment and materials to give our team the best chance to win. Thanks to you we are able to provide our students with the best possible equipment and the best chance to compete on the field.

  In our 5th year, we are seeing our efforts really come to life as past graduates come back to support our programs even as they have moved on to competitive high school and (soon) college baseball programs. We look forward to continuing to build our programs and support our students in the South Bronx.”

• Baseball Equipment for Bronx Middle School Team

  Funded Apr 29, 2022

  Thanks to your support we had an amazing 2022 Baseball season. The 'Big Cats' came together from 2 different schools and over only a 3 month period became one. Our student athletes worked hard in school and on the field, learned a lot of lessons about hard work, dedication, being humble, and overcoming disappointment, and emerged from the Middle School Athletic League as the Bronx Champions!

  It was an amazing experience for our coaches and players alike. Coach Rivera took a group of students to a tournament in Cooperstown over this summer for more experience, we graduated 9 players, many who are off to play PSAL high school baseball, and will return several starters next season. We had alumni come visit and help our current players practice, and as several of our alumni enter their senior year of high school and eye college baseball programs, we are extremely excited for the future of our program as well! Thanks for your support!”

• South Bronx School Soccer Team Needs the Tools to Win!

  Thank you so much for your contributions to our soccer team! The equipment that we received helped us get our team off the ground for the first time, and we made the most of it, winning the 10 team Bronx league and becoming Bronx Middle School Champions! We fell short of our ultimate goal of winning the city championship, but it was an absolutely outstanding experience for our players.

  Our students were so excited to play on the team and represent their school! They had been asking me to create a soccer team for the past 2 years and it was amazing to finally make it a reality. It also got our school athletic seasons off to a great start, and as we move forward with brand new Girls Volleyball and Track teams to supplement our Basketball and Baseball teams, the vibe and school pride around athletics is at an all time high!

  Our Fall season is over, but the season was such a success that we are hoping to find and join a Spring league as well. Either way the team will be back and our operations will be further improved for 2020. As we move into our Winter and Spring athletic seasons, we thank you again for your support!”
