  • Mental Break

    Funded Aug 12, 2024

Wow! I’m so excited to have this project funded so quickly! Thank you so much for everything you do! Donors like you make a difference for so many students and teachers. Your generosity will be appreciated for years to come. Thank you again, I couldn’t make my classroom as welcoming and inviting as it is without donors like you.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Glenn

  • Everyday Tools

    Funded Nov 28, 2023

My creative writing chap book projects were a great hit! The supplies that were provided in the grant made a huge difference in my classroom. Each day, my students would use scissors and glue to cut out a mentor text and place it in their notebook. They would use these texts for inspiration for their own unique writing. I have several left handed students, therefore the left handed scissors made a big difference. Students were thanking me for providing them with this simple tool. We also used the sticky notes on group writing days. They would exchange notebooks and write positive and constructive notes to their peers on the sticky notes. Overall, the class was a success due to the support I received from this project.”

  • Dystopian Dilema

    Funded Nov 28, 2023

I am so excited to have these resources in my classroom. We formed small group book clubs in five of my classes. Students were allowed to choose a book and a group to work with. They have 8 weeks to complete their chosen books. Many of my groups are reading Unwind and Scythe. They have been a HUGE hit. I have students who openly admitted before we began, that they hate to read. These books have hooked them!!! A few of them have been batting to see who can read the fastest and begin the next book in the series. I've had to continually ask some of these kids to put their book down so they can do other work. This is a wonderful problem to have! Your donation has made a huge impact on my reluctant readers.”

  • Manga for Variety!

    Funded Mar 30, 2023

I want to thank you for providing this genre of books in my high school classroom I realized last year that there is a whole group of readers that I was not engaging. Your donations have helped me reach part of that group.

One of my main goals in my classroom, is to re-ignite the love for reading in my students who have abandoned reading for pleasure. I want them to realize that reading can be fun and relaxing, and not just for school assignments.

I now have students light up when they see that I have Manga for them to read for pleasure. They are so excited to have a book in their hand, and many of them can't seem to put them down. I have students begging for independent reading time daily! THIS is every English teacher's dream!

Thank you for making this dream possible!”

  • Reusable Tools

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

Thank you so much for helping me provide these materials for my classroom. Teachers spend a lot of time prepping for daily lessons, and these tools have already helped me to preserve materials to be used year after year. I have already laminated multiple interactive activities that I will be able to use each year instead of wasting time and materials to create new ones each year.

I have used the laminator more than anything. I will provide a few pictures of some items I have already laminated for the classroom. The cardstock and cutter are also wonderful additions to make creating these materials faster.

Thank you so much for your generosity!”

  • Reading Variety

    Funded Oct 6, 2022

I am in awe of the amount of joy these books brought to some unlikely readers! When I unboxed these books, I had a swarm of girls surround my table to devour the choices. I couldn't unbox them fast enough. Students that have NEVER shown interest in reading, were suddenly excited to get their hands on these brand new books. Your donation purchased such a variety of books, that I had something to spike everyone's attention. Several of my students have already read multiple books from this project. Thank you for your assistance making my ELA classroom a little more diverse.”

  • Basics Aren't So Basic!

    Funded Oct 5, 2022

I want to thank you for helping me provide my eleventh graders with basic classroom needs. It took a load off of me as an individual to provide items such as tissues, disinfecting wipes, and composition notebooks for my students. I have over 80 students, so purchasing those materials each year add up quickly. As everyone knows, we must be diligent with daily cleaning in order for everyone to stay healthy and be present at school. We use the wipes everyday! The composition notebooks were so helpful because we use them every single day in my room, and many of the students cannot purchase them before school begins. It is with a full heart that I thank you for your donation.”

  • ELA Is Poppin'!

    Funded Jul 13, 2022

I have used the popcorn machine several times already this year! When the year began, my students were so excited to see the machine set up in a corner of my room. I don't think they have had anything like it in their other classrooms. We have used it at the end of units as a celebration. We are testing over the novel Fahrenheit 451 today, and I plan to show the movie and enjoy some popcorn this week as a celebration for two months of hard work. I'm working on getting a candy vending machine for my room next, to allow students to choose from various choices after reaching certain individual goals. Thank you so much for making this exciting action possible for my 11th graders. I cannot wait to use it for various incentives as the year progresses.”

  • Back to the Basics

    Funded Jul 14, 2021

My students have loved having an abundance of basic supplies for our classroom for them to use as they see necessary. They use the colored pencils and markers daily for their cursive homework packets. They seem to enjoy handwriting practice more when they can make it colorful. We desperately needed a new pencil sharpener and the one we received is so QUIET! It is wonderful!!! Thank you so much for making a difference in my classroom. Basic supplies are often overlooked for projects, but these supplies have truly made a difference!”

  • Write With Flare!

    Funded Aug 13, 2021

My students are so grateful for this project!!! Your kind donation has made it possible for them to have a wide variety of writing tools to use on a daily basis in our writing classroom. They have enjoyed having the ability to use tools other than common wooden pencils during classes. Your kind donation has been very beneficial for each student. I have about 60 students in and out of my classroom every day, and this project has impacted each and every one of them. Thank you again for your generosity!”

The fluorescent lighting in my classroom is quite cold and uninviting. I would like to purchase some filters that will create a warmer, more inviting environment. I often turn the lights off when they are working to prevent headaches from the harsh lights above, which then makes the room too dark for reading. The filters can dull the light, creating a lighter mood but with adequate lighting. I would also like to purchase some new flexible seating options for my class. A few of my students have an ADHD diagnosis and would benefit from a variety of seating options. These chairs would encourage movement in their seats, allowing them to wiggle and move around while working. They would be able to stay seated, while also getting the movement their bodies need.
