Students deserve the opportunity to visit new places and see history and book learning come to life! My fourth graders will get the opportunity to visit our state's capital, to see the actual capital building that they have only seen in pictures (with hopes of meeting our governor!) and learn firsthand the history of our great state's government. They will then travel over to the legislative building where students will see our actual government in action! Students will sit in the same room where our state senators and representatives work to make the laws of our state.
After seeing our state government in action, my fourth graders will then get the opportunity to travel to two exciting museums. First, they will learn about the history of our beautiful state and see, firsthand, the history behind what makes our state so great! Next, students will travel to the science museum which will focus on the ecosystems, geology and regions of our state. The students have been reading about and studying the history and science of our state and I cannot wait for them to get the opportunity to experience it in real life!
