Laptops for Learners
Funded Nov 30, 2021Thank you so much for your generous donation of laptops to my classroom.
The laptops are used daily by students in my classroom, and are such a valuable tool in my class. Students can check out the laptops any time they forgot their school laptop or are having technical issues with their assigned laptops. This has been immensely helpful because it allows students to stay on task and avoid falling behind.
This semester, we have also utilized the laptops for group projects such as online discussions, creating a website (SWAY), and we hope to utilize the laptops to create podcasts before the end of the semester!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Neeley
This classroom project was brought to life by The DonorsChoose Community and 6 other donors.Teaching with Tablets
Funded Dec 15, 2018The tablets have allowed my students to complete many individual as well as group projects and activities that would not have been possible without your generous donation. Currently students are reading the dystopian science-fiction novel "Feed", and the tablets allow students to listen to the audibook version as they follow along in their books, which they are loving so far! The audiobook has really made our novel project so much more fun and has made reading much more enjoyable for reluctant readers.
We have also been using many educational apps or websites on the tablets such as: NoRedink.com, Khan Academy, Google Classroom, Kahoot, etc.
The class tablets have also allowed me to add more activities to the list of "finished early activities" that students can complete if they finish their work in class such as: listening to podcasts, reading the news, watching a TED talk, etc. This allows students to pursue their own personal interests once they finish their classwork.
Thank you so much for generously donating to fund the purchase of tablets for the classroom. It has allowed the class to participate in so many fun activities that wouldn't have been possible without your help.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Neeley
