Learning how to read is a fundamental part of 1st grade. Apart from working with me in small groups, my students also interactively engage in the web based reading program iRead to support their reading skills. My class has been provided with touch screen lap tops by our district, but for students whose fine motor skills are still developing to interact with the program on a 10 inch screen can be a daunting task. The wireless mouse and mouse pads will not only help to build my students computer skills, but also their fine motor skills. The ease and maneuverability of a wireless mouse will allow students to focus on the main skill at hand, reading, instead of worrying over technical difficulties.
