My students need fetal pigs and dissecting equipment. Pig anatomy and human anatomy are similar. This will allow students the opportunity to gain real world experience about the anatomy in their own bodies. Dissection is a hands-on way of learning anatomy. This will provide an experience that these students will never forget as many of them will never dissect anything else until college. Dissection allows students to see the body’s structures in three dimensions, unlike in a textbook, and how the organ systems are interconnected. Students would not have to learn the different systems of the body in isolation, but would get the opportunity to all systems working together.
