  • Music Making Made Safe!

    Wow! Thank you all so much for your support and helping fund this project! My students and administration were so ecstatic to hear that we were able to meet our fundraising goal in 3 days! Your generosity does not go unnoticed especially during this time when COVID-19 has limited school budgets. These keyboards will be a great addition to the Chorus program and we cannot wait to use them upon returning for in-person learning!”

As students begin our hybrid model between in-person and remote at-home learning, they need opportunities to be creative, to express ideas and feelings, and to extend their learning beyond endless Cromebook screens! Musical instruments provide tangible opportunities for students to express themselves, build confidence, practice creativity, connect with one another safely, and learn new skills that engage their body, mind, and spirit! Have you noticed how compelling piano keyboards are to children even the older ones!? With their own individual (easily sanitized) piano keyboards, my Chorus and Class piano students will be able to make their own music safely at school! As they learn the piano, they will begin to understand musical connections, how to create melodies and harmonies, develop musical literacy, and even compose their own music!
