Building Strong Readers
Funded Feb 16, 2023Thank you so much for helping me provide engaging phonics activities for my students. I know that when we receive these games, they will be so excited to play them and practice all of the phonics skills they have learned.
Again, thank you so much for your kindness and generosity.”

Flexible Seating in First Grade!
Funded Aug 30, 2021I cannot thank you enough for your generous donations. I wish I had pictures of my students' initial reactions to the furniture. They were literally jumping for joy. When I first set up the different types of seating, students had a chance to try out each one. Students are able to choose their seats each day, and it's great to see them making educated decisions about where they work best.
In addition to the classroom setup and organization, flexible seating has had a positive impact on my students' academic success. Their stamina has increased a great deal. Whether in reading, writing or math, my students are able to sit with a task or book for a much longer period of time. Additionally, in choosing a new seat each day, students get to sit with new peers, which makes for a more friendly and welcoming classroom environment.
Thank you again! Your kindness has had such a great impact on my students.”

Funded Sep 8, 2020I cannot thank you enough for your generous donations. When I delivered these supplies to my students, they were so excited! My students do not have supplies or a quiet place to learn at home, so providing them with these materials made a huge difference in their learning.
Ultimately, I want my students to have the same access to supplies and learning that they would in the classroom. By providing them with a large variety of supplies, you have provided my students with the gift of equity.
Thank you again! Your kindness has had such a great impact on my students.”

Ready to Read in First Grade!
Funded Mar 2, 2020I cannot thank you enough for your generous donations. I wish I had pictures of my students' initial reactions upon receiving these books. They were literally jumping for joy. My students do not have books at home, and most of their parents do not have time to take them to the public library. So to have a place in our classroom with all of their favorite books, characters and topics is unbelievably exciting.
Each day, I read aloud one book from a book series in order to introduce students to the characters and themes in the book. We discussed whether we liked the book (usually this question was met with an enthusiastic "yes!") and would we like to read more from the series.
Ultimately, I want my students to develop strong identities as readers. I want them to understand what books they like to read and be able to explain why. By providing them with a large variety within our classroom library, you have provided my students with the gift of choice. You have given them the opportunity to really connect with a character or story that they will love and remember their entire lives.
Thank you again! Your kindness has had such a great impact on my students.”

Funded Jan 14, 2019I sincerely thank you for your generous donations. My students were so excited upon receiving colored copies of their writing pieces. I want my students to take pride in their writing, and to have a real sense of purpose when writing. By providing them with copies of their writing and art, they are able to share their hard work with family and friends. You have given them this great opportunity to celebrate and cherish their hard work, and I cannot thank you enough!

Funded Oct 16, 2018I cannot thank you enough for your generous donations. My students do not have many opportunities to travel outside of their neighborhood or to gain hands on experiences when learning about topics such as animals or landforms. So to create a space in our classroom where we can create those experiences together, is unbelievably exciting.
Ultimately, I want my students to have fun learning, and the materials you've given them for art projects and dioramas has helped me achieve this goal. Thank you again! Your kindness has had such a great impact on my students.”
