Thank you so much for your generous donation. We can't wait to share the good news with our students! This carpet will help us give our classroom a little refresh which is always exciting for our students! We look forward to learning and making memories in our new space!”

  • Ear Ye! Ear Ye!

    Funded Sep 6, 2022

Thank you so much for your donation to our class! We are already using our headsets very frequently and it has made such a difference in the classroom. We are fortunate enough to have class set of chromebooks in our room, but since we did not have headsets, it limited which computer programs we could use effectively in the classroom.

Now, we are able to complete our digital assessments, play our favorite educational games, and listen to some of our favorite digital books thanks to your generosity.

The students are very excited to have their very own pair of headsets (and love the shiny colors). They are happy that we are able to use our computers more frequently now.

Although all of our students are excited about our new products, our sensory avoiding students are extremely grateful for these headsets. They appreciate not having to hears 25 other computers while they are trying to complete digital assignments. Thank you for making this possible.”

  • Surprises for Our Students

    Funded May 9, 2020

Thank you so much for your kindness last year during the peak of the COVID pandemic in NYC. Unfortunately we were not able to give the students their books and gift bags until this school year, but they loved them! The Mercy Watson series is always a favorite in our classroom, and the students were elated to have their very own copy! We even were able to start a book club, which was a lot of fun! The scented erasers and pencils were also a very big hit. They brought a little cheer to our days in the classroom, which looked very different this year. We appreciate all you did to put smiles on our faces!”

    Funded Dec 3, 2019

Thank you so much for your generous donations. We feel so lucky that you all have taken an interest in our classroom and our students. There is nothing better than telling our students a project has been funded and seeing the smiles on their faces. Your kindness is much appreciated.”

  • An Apple for the Students

    Funded Feb 4, 2019

We are so humbled by your generosity! Our students have access to iPads in our classroom only because of donors like you! Our students love to use apps like Seesaw, Epic, and XtraMath in the classroom. Now more students will have an opportunity to use these apps with the addition of this iPad.

Our students love technology and they are so excited for increased opportunities to use iPads throughout the day. They are also really excited to use our science curriculum's app.

We have a student in our class who refuses to write for fear of spelling words incorrectly. We taught him how to use the Amazon Alexa app. He now asks the Alexa app how to spell words and is producing wonderful writing. Without this kind donation from you, we would not be able to celebrate this success.”

  • Focused on Learning

    Funded Nov 30, 2018

Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness. We are already using our new resources in the classroom. The biggest hit thus far has been our two new beanbag chairs. The students absolutely LOVE them. What's awesome about these chairs is that two students can fit on one beanbag chair so they are getting a lot of use during partner work time. Furthermore, certain students are able to focus better when sitting in the beanbag chair during mini-lessons.

A few students have had great success using the weighted neck pillow and the bouncy chair bands. We have noticed a positive difference in their ability to focus in our classroom. Also, these materials have even traveled with students to the science lab where the focusing success has continued.

The students eyes were wide with excitement and wonder when they were first introduced to our new classroom materials. They were very eager to try each item out. In the future, we plan to use one of our beanbag chairs as a reward for students who were caught being kind to others.

Thank you for making all of this possible.”

  • Financially Secure in Grade Two

    Funded Apr 12, 2018

Thank you so much for contributing to this project. Our second grade students have really enjoyed becoming financially literate! One way we have used the materials from this project is by keeping track of how many days we have been in school using the magnetic coins (161 days = $1.61) The students love adding one cent each day and exchanging coins as needed. They are really showing a deeper understanding of coins and money by participating in this daily interactive activity! We have all borrowing books from our library's new "Financial Literacy" bin. The children have really enjoyed all the books based around the theme of money. Last but not least, we have created a game with our coin stampers that the children love to play on Fridays.

All the students have been able to enjoy these materials and we are very grateful for these fun, educational additions to our classroom. Thank you for helping to make us all more financially literate!”

  • Publishing in the Digital Age!

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Wow! We cannot thank you enough for providing our classroom with a brand new iPad. In our classroom we have many struggling readers. These iPads allow them to have access to grade level texts that can be read aloud to them on apps such as Epic! This really helps these students to be included in book clubs with their peers and also allows them access to books that are of high interest to them.

In addition, may of our grade level students are just as excited to use this new technology. We use the iPad for research on websites such as PebbleGO for enrichment projects we are working on.

Lastly, some students have started to actually learn how to code robots! We downloaded an awesome child friendly app that we are able to use in conjunction with a robot. These students are so excited to do this work. They are so engaged and eager. It is amazing to watch.

Without your generosity none of this would be possible. Thank you for choosing kindness and for making a difference.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Meyers

  • Getting Creative in the Digital Age!

    Funded Feb 16, 2018

Thank you so much for your generous donation! It is so nice to know there are kind people in this world like you! We have been using the iPad for so many great things in the classroom such as listening to stories, being digital storytellers, and researching.

We have been using an app called Epic that allows us to listen to stories and gives us access to many stories that we do not have in our classroom library. This is especially helpful for our special needs students who struggle to read. Using the iPad is a great motivator for students who otherwise do not look forward to reading.

We are also using the iPad to become digital storytellers. We are becoming familiar with a few apps that will help us do this. One of this apps is called Toontastic. The kids LOVE this app as it allows them to turn their stories into cartoons that they narrate. We also have been using SeeSaw to narrate our stories and share them with our parents.

Thank you for your kind gift to our class. It has made such a difference!”

  • Super STEM Take Home Bags!

    Funded Feb 1, 2018

Thank you so much for your generosity. There has been a giant push to expose our students to more STEM activities. To meet this growing need, we have implemented STEM Family Fridays once a month at our school. We invite our families in and we compete in teams to win various STEM challenges.

By providing our classroom with this 2nd grade STEM library and with all these folder math games, we are able to continue the learning at home with our families. Students have enjoyed bringing home STEM books and math games that are connected to the Family Friday activity we did in class. In addition, the students whose families are unable to attend our event have really enjoyed bringing these materials home to "teach" their families what we are learning in class.

Bridging that school/home gap is so important for our children's academic growth, but also their social emotional growth. Thank you so much for making this possible.”
