  • Classroom Basics for Second Grade Learners!

    Funded Aug 30, 2021

Thank you very much for the generous donations to our classroom. My students and I are so grateful for your support of our learning. The supplies we received because of your donations were so helpful. We have put everything to use. The special paper for practicing penmanship is very useful after a year of distance learning. We are using the chart paper for posters and data. The erasers went into the student store and are a crowd pleaser. Lastly, the grammar posters are a great tool to help remember the rules while writing. Thank you again for your support. We really appreciate you!”

  • Second Grade Artists

    Funded Aug 12, 2021

Thank you very much for your generous donations to our class project. My students and I are so grateful for the support. We used the acrylic paint and rocks to make listening rabbits. These are cute little rabbits that can be a listening ear when you are not ready to talk "it" out with a peer or teacher. We use the people color markers and colored pencils to make self portraits and we use the color pencils and water color paint for elements of art lessons. We will be using the foil for sculpture art. The foam and ink for a lesson on print making when we study Hokusai. The prints will become framed works of art. The art supplies that we were able to purchase with your donations will create a year of amazing art memories. Thank you again!”

  • Culturally Responsive Literature For Diverse Second Graders

    Funded Mar 10, 2021

Thank you very much for the culturally responsive literature. My class is so appreciative of your generosity. Right now we are reading Alvin Ho, Meet Yazmin and Katie Woo. My students love these fun stories and enjoy being able to relate to the main characters. We have also used the beautiful picture books for class discussions and group projects. I Can Do Hard Things, I Am Enough, and I Promise are all fantastic stories and have given my class feelings of empowerment and pride as well as empathy toward others. We are really enjoying getting to know each other on a deeper level. Again, thank you very much!”

  • Printer Toner for Our Published Work

    Funded Nov 22, 2019

Thank you very much for the generous donation to our classroom. We have made good use of the printer toner. My students have been writing and sharing their creativity with the class. They wrote stories about their family and explained why their families moved to our neighborhood. They have written poems about themselves and printed them out for all to see. They also made holiday signs to print and use as photo props. We use our printer daily. This is all made possible by your generous donation. we had no toner and no way to print out the wonderful work my students were creating. We are so grateful for your help. Thank you again.”

  • Second Grade Chocolatiers!

    Funded Dec 3, 2019

Thank you so much for your generous donations to our classroom. The hot pot, chocolate molds, cacao pods, powder, butter, and nibs all made for a fantastic learning experience. We had so much fun learning about chocolate. Through this unit of study, my students were able to learn about biodiversity, species interdependence, solids, liquids and gasses, financial literacy, arrays, and so much more. We wrote, collaborated, pitched our products and made the most delicious chocolate. It was a wonderful experience that was made possible by your generosity. Thank you again.”

  • Creating for Charity

    Funded Jul 21, 2019

Thank you very much for the Silhouette Cameo cutting machine, vinyl and supplies. My students are so happy to be able to create projects for charity. So far we have tried our machine out and made custom chair covers. We plan to put inspiring quotes, cute pictures and other things we make on pencil pouches, bags, and pillows. • 3D Printing with 2nd Grade Entrepreneurs

    Funded Apr 9, 2019

Thank you very much for the generous donations that helped my class purchase a Flashforge 3D printer and the supplies to print. We have had so much fun learning to use Makers Empire and printing amazing 3D things. We were able to print chocolate molds for our integrated STEM unit and 3D mazes for our math Geometry unit. • We Love to Read Good Books!

    Funded Oct 25, 2018

I can't thank you enough for your generosity towards my students. We love our new books! They have brought excitement back into our reading program. Just yesterday a reluctant reader picked up the book, Around the World in 80 Days, and said, "I really want to read this." So, thank you! We have started reading some of the book sets in our guided reading groups. Kids are also fighting over the Eery Elementary books and asking to check them out to read on the weekends. We are having so much fun exploring this wonderful new literature. My class and I appreciate this gift more than I can express.”
