  • Kindergarten Sports Fun

    Funded Sep 3, 2024

Thank you for your generous donations to our class project. This project funded balls, jump ropes, and scarves. All of the equipment is being used to enhance our Friday class PE time. It is so much fun and my class loves learning new games and activities on the playground.

This month we are having so much fun learning to catch, throw, and play four square. We have also been learning to jump rope. The scarves are now our tails for a game we call Foxes and Farmers. It is a class favorite. All of the activities teach teamwork, cooperation and sportsmanship along with motor skills.

Due to our generosity our class is developing their motor skills, learning to work collaboratively, and how to share in a fun and engaging way.”

  • Art and Creativity In The Classroom

    Funded Apr 2, 2024

Thank you for your generous donation to our classroom project. We have already started using our art supplies. The markers and crayons have been a life saver. The colorful artwork that is covering our walls is all thanks to you. We just finished making pop up landscape scenes that went with our gold rush unit of study. Thank you!

Next we will be using our clay to make coil pots and our paper mache to make our own pinatas. Our clay pots will be pencil holders and our pinatas will help us celebrate the end of the school year. Thank you again for your generosity.”

  • 4th Grade Eco Warriors

    Funded Jan 17, 2024

Thank you very much for your generous donations to our class project. We are having so much fun and learning a lot about compositing and recycling. We use our composter twice a week. Kids bring compostable food scraps from home or from lunch and we use the compost that we make in our Lomi to fertilize our school gardens where we are growing potatoes, cauliflower, squash and beets. Our recycle center bags are used to organize paper, plastic, and glass containers. We are learning that we generate a lot of trash in our classroom and are working to reduce that. Overall it has been a very successful project. Thank you again for making this dream a reality.”

  • 4th Grade Shop

    Funded Nov 26, 2023

Thank you very much for the generous donations to our class project. Our student store is completely stocked with goodies. The cashiers and store managers were hard at work today helping customers and selling products. The fidget spinners, plushies, Minecraft characters and invisible ink pens are all a big hit. The student store is the once a week reward for positive behavior and classwork. We have a classroom economy and students earn paychecks once a week. The items we received are very motivating.

    Thank you again!”

  • Strike It Rich!

    Funded Nov 26, 2023

Thank you for your generosity. My class is so excited to Strike it Rich! The gold pay dirt that we received due to your generous donation will be used with our gold panning equipment. We will be studying the California Gold Rush of 1849. We will read an interactive story, learn from historical documents, attend virtual field trips to Sutter's Mill and lastly, pan for gold. The pay dirt we purchased through this project is guaranteed to have small flecks or nuggets of gold. So, we will do better than most of the miners from 1849. We are guaranteed to, Strike it Rich. Thank you again!”

  • Fun Friday Board Games

    Funded Nov 9, 2023

Thank you for your generous donations to our class project. My students have enjoyed playing our new board games. We have game days on Fridays and now instead of asking to play Minecraft they are reaching for a board game. The favorite is Sorry, but my students also really enjoy Adsumandi, Upwards, and Dog Man. We haven't tried Happy Little Accidents yet but I know it will become a crowd favorite with my artists. I am very grateful for your donations as it has given my students a reason to step away from their tech devices and to think critically while having fun without a screen. Once again, thank you for your generosity.”

  • 4th Grade Reads

    Funded May 10, 2023

Thank you for the wonderful fourth grade chapter books. My class had so much fun reading. Unplugged was an instant favorite as was The Girl Who Drank the Moon. We wouldn't have had the challenging and rewarding reading experiences without your generous donations to our class project. Through literature we have explored themes such as empathy, change over time, character traits, and so much more. Reading quality literature inspires readers to read. It created life long learning through the desire to pick up a book. We loved the Wild Robot and the graphic novel, Swim Team. They added adventure and fun to our independent reading time. Thank you again for your generosity and support.”

  • 4th Graders Read

    Funded Mar 31, 2023

Thank you very much for your generous donations to our classroom project. We are so grateful. The next class book we will read is, Tiger Rising and then we will end the year with, The Parker Inheritance. The books, Restart and Insignificant Events in the Life of a Cactus, are both favorites for book club. They are inspiring stories of kids overcoming life's hardships to find friendship and happiness. My students love reading and devour books. This set of books came at the perfect time and we are so excited to get started on our new reading adventure. Again, Thank you very much for your support of my classroom.”

  • The Race for Gold

    Funded Nov 12, 2022

Thank you for your generous donations to our class project. We received a class set of books called, The California Gold Rush An Interactive History Adventure, by Elizabeth Raum. My students love this story so far and can't wait for our daily reading time. The books is a choose your own adventure. Some will make it to California and strike it rich and some won't. The great thing about this book is that all of the events and adventures are based on real events and if it doesn't work out the first time they can start again and hope for a better adventure. I am sure some of the real 49ers would have wanted to have a do over too. Thanks again for your donations. We are very appreciative.”
