I have 5 classes of 8th graders totaling 95 students. My students are very diverse, but many of them come from families who are impoverished. In fact, we are a Title 1 school, meaning that most of our kids receive free or reduced lunch due to their family's socioeconomic status. Our school is also housed in the oldest building in the district, which means things don't always work the way they should, and we don't always have the materials we need. Despite these set-backs, the teachers and students at our school are always willing to do the best with what we have.
