Inspire With the Arts!

I can't thank you enough for your support with this project. My students are always very excited when they hear we get to do art. You have made it possible for my students to enjoy and appreciate art. So far, we have used the materials with two visual art projects. The students have had the opportunity to create Still Life art with pastels, and they also explored with different types of lines while creating a leaf with the use of watercolors.

Not only has the art experiences given them opportunities to be creative, but they have also challenged my students to trust their abilities. The Still Life art was a challenge for many of my students. Starting the activity was very intimidating for them because they were overwhelmed with the idea of making mistakes. The use of pastels was a great medium for this activity because it allowed for corrections, and the students quickly realized that it was OK to make mistakes. By the end of the art session, the students seemed much more confident to just create. I loved seeing the transformation from beginning to end. Our next art activity will be to create a one point perspective visual art of an outdoor area. I have already mentioned it to the students, and they are all very excited to make it their own.
