  • Increase Engagement With Technology

    Thank you for all your donations! The classroom has really changed with the introduction of new technology in the room. Scholars are more active in their learning by doing web-quests and really investing in the school work. Seeing their growth is largely due to the generosity shown by the donors. Words cannot express the feeling that I have knowing that the scholars are leaving my room more well-rounded, diverse, intellectually prepared individuals. This has been a great year and I hope it continues to be.”

  • Providing a Positive Learning Environment

    First of all, thank you for your donations. My classroom has a new positive energy when you walk in the room. The kiddos are excited for the opportunity to sit on the new comfy chairs. I remember the first day after I set up the new "comfy corner" in my room, they kids were ecstatic. They were running towards them asking "Mr. Valentin, can we sit here today?" Due to this, I made sitting in the comfy chairs a new reward system in my classroom and the kids are doing everything in their power to sit there and have a comfy seat that allows them to relax. The chairs are also amazing for independent reading time, we all like to read comfortable and these chairs provide this to the students.”

You can talk to anyone in the world at the tips of your fingers, unlock information from across the globe in just mere seconds - however some students do not have this opportunity. We need five iPads with cases and a projector for technology in the classroom to enhance their success in a modern classroom. With the use of a projector, my students will be able to see and listen to thousands of resources. With iPads, the students can independently work on projects and research things that spark their interest. iPads also allow for different structured learning inside the classroom. Giving low-income students access to new technology is an investment in their future. it also provides the students with a sense of independence so that they do not feel that they have been spoon fed the information. Not of my students do not have access to the internet or technology - so this may be their only exposure.
