Robotics Are Our Future!
Funded Sep 23, 2019The LEGO WeDo Kits have proven to be an engineering design process dream! Watching a student that struggles with reading and writing delve into our robotics program with abandon is heartwarming. This same student was the first to configure a working machine using the battery and motor. This is a perfect example of how students learn in a modality of ways.
When my students saw the LEGO boxes in our classroom they screamed in excitement. The absolute thrill they received from just seeing the boxes was endearing. Our entire third grade will now have the opportunity to explore with robotics.
Our next step is to fund the curriculum to buy extra building kits to expand our robotics program. Students can not wait to get their hands on these materials and their passion is contagious.
Thank you for giving my students this opportunity, it is very appreciated.”
With gratitude,

This classroom project was brought to life by San Diego Gas & Electric and one other donor.Rugs Make Us Feel Comfortable And Safe
Funded Sep 28, 2017As I opened my classroom door, my third grade students entered, and immediately exclaimed, "Oh, it's beautiful, can we try it now?" I also heard, "It's brand new, it's brand new!" They were so very excited to have a comfortable place to learn. Alternative seating, as well as whole group work, can now be easily achieved using this beautiful, serene, and well made rug.
Our rug has already been used for Writer's Workshop, ST Math, and silent reading. And that is within the first two hours of receiving this fabulous gift! We are truly that excited.
My next project centers around classroom novels. The third graders at our school need class sets of novels to instill a lifelong love of reading. Reading can improve student's learning in all curriculum areas.
I am speechless with appreciation and so thankful for the opportunity to use Donors Choose as a resource to improve the lives of my students.”
