Technology is an essential part of the classroom environment. For special education students, focus and engagement is always a struggle. Having the tools to keep them engaged is key to a successful classroom. Every classroom in my school has an iPad, but my class iPad was broke the year before I came to the school. They never replaced it and my class is suffering because we cannot access the curriculum through fun and engaging ways. A classroom is a place where students can use different resources to grow academically. My school does not have the funding for technology in my classroom and it is truly hurting my students. An iPad would give them tools to learn how to read and do math through engaging ways. I would appreciate any donation to my cause. I am a special education teacher in a 12:1:1 setting where all my students have IEPs. It's extra difficult to keep them engaged and focused during classroom instruction.
