I have chosen for students to have access to a wide array of items that can stimulate the brain. It is imperative to their education that they have access to more than just a device to gain the ability to problem solve and interact with others. For example, the origami is great for improving hand eye coordination, following multi step directions, and uses spatial intelligence. The Snap Circuits is a connection to our Matter Unit as well as our Energy unit in that it will allow students to design circuits with interesting components. When students interact with puzzles, they are accessing their logical smarts as well as spatial smarts which increases their ability to problem solve in real world situations. All these activities have a cooperative element embedded in them. Students want to engage in conversations with each other, but sometimes lack the shared interests to strike up the conversation. These activities make it easy to ask for help or to help someone else.
