These student live in a neighborhood that is considered "low-socioeconomic" and many of their parents can't afford many of the extras in life. The purpose of our robotics programs is to help students problems solve, be exposed to STEAM lessons, and to build their interest in learning and going to school.
We want the students to have a purpose and engage and invest in their own learning. Many can't afford paper and pencils for school, let alone activities outside school. We are building something at our school that will benefit the students in their lives by exposing them to the possibilities that are available out in the world that they would otherwise never even know exist.
