I use personal whiteboards in class as a way to gauge my students' learning. These are great for individual activities at their table. When I want the students to collaborate they are limited to using chart paper (which we have little of) and going to the chalkboard. My students' reluctance to go near my chalkboards is almost comical. With the white board film I can convert the chalkboards on my walls to white boards the students want to use. The white boards and markers will encourage students to engage with the mathematics on the walls in a way they currently shy away from. No piles and clouds of chalk dust, yellow hands, and the dreaded screeching sound synonymous with chalk boards. Examples will come to life with vibrant colors that stand out against the bright background.
