I teach a total of forty students in my English Dual Language Classes. I see one class of twenty students in the morning and the other class of twenty in the afternoon. The other half of the day they are in their Spanish class. They are enthusiastic and bright first graders. About ninety percent of them are English Language Learners. Each one is very unique, but they are able to work together as a team. They come from diverse backgrounds. Some live with both parents, and most of them live with one parent. Our school is located in a low socioeconomic area where crime is a common occurrence.
