  • Little Hands Can Build Big Things!

    Funded Dec 31, 2023

My students were so excited to get their hands on the new kits. They went to town building and coding up a storm. They love having the creativity on the STEM kits that allow their imagination to run wild. There are no limits to what they can build and create. They even combined the kits to allow for more creations. The robot has provided hours of fun and learning as they learn about algorithms and how important it is to have the code exact in order for the robot to complete the mission. We have barely scratched the surface with what we can do because of your generous donations!

    Thanks for inspiring young minds!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lester

  • Circuit Crazy!

    Funded Oct 2, 2023

My students were beyond excited when the boxes arrived and we were able to explore the world of circuits!

They could hardly wait for me to give them batteries so they could get started! They got started right away and before long they were celebrating their success and sharing ideas with the other groups!

I was so impressed with how they followed my class protocol for hands on activities that I allowed them extra time to continue to build circuits. I know that these kits will be on of the hands-on activities that they will beg for time and time again!”

  • 4th Grade Readers Love Cam Jansen!

    Funded Oct 26, 2023

My 4th graders are loving having their very own copies of the Cam Jansen books that your donations made possible!

Without your donations, these students would only be able to read these books by checking out the only copy of each title from our library. With your donations, we are now able to read the same book at the same time and use them for many classroom activities as well as lively discussions about each chapter as we read!

Having students so excited about reading is making my job easier because I don't have to beg them to read or read orally to them due to only having one copy of the book.

Thank you so much for helping me create lifelong readers!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lester

  • Future Coders of America!

    Funded Jan 13, 2020

Coding is the future and our students are like little sponges when it comes to learning this type of language. It levels the playing field in the classroom because all types of students can learn to code in one form of another and some of our shyest students have turned into our best coders. The students love working in many different formats and direct applications of coding. Donors Choose has greatly helped our students take a giant step towards their future in a tech filled world! We could not be more grateful!”

  • A.E.S. Loves Cubelets and 3d Doodler Pens!

    Funded Oct 5, 2022

My students have loved the added materials to our Cubelets and 3d Doodler Pens!

My students love hands on learning and I believe that is the key to getting students interested in a future career in the technology field. We are striving here at our school to put as much hands on learning in our curriculum as we can. Your donations to our projects help do this more than you could ever know and we truly appreciate your support in the future of our students. We are a small rural school and are resources are limited, but we believe in our students and their futures and you are helping a huge way!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lester

  • Help Us Find Our "Root"s in Coding!

    Funded Jun 21, 2022

Our students so love working with this robot! They can't believe what all is possible with robotics! They have truly embraced their creative side along with learning to code. This robot allows for so many options that I don't think they have explored them all at this time. We are trying to find more time in our schedule for the 3rd graders to experience coding and robotics because they beg to use them. Your donations have made it possible for 3rd grade to have this robotic kit in their room at all times. It's so refreshing to have students beg to do something both educational and fun! We love robotics and coding!”

  • Practice Makes Perfect!

    Funded Feb 9, 2022

Our students are all about football and basketball in our small community because it is one of the few things they all have access to through our PeeWee programs in the elementary school!

Students are now able to practice their skills at a much younger age due to your donations. Preparing young students for success on the court and on the field helps improve their health and focus in the classroom as well.

We pride ourselves on our athletic programs for our young student athletes and you helped keep that tradition alive!”

  • Doodling Into a Future Career!

    Funded May 24, 2022

I introduced the Doodle Pens in my technology class for girls first and they were intrigued by their ability to create 3D objects just by using a pen. They are excited to try more projects once they complete the training phase to help them learn how to use the pens effectively.

I love that the girls in my school do not shy away from new STEM/STEAM experiences, but boldly experiment with the challenges and materials that you have provided with your generous donations.

The Doodle pens give them a new and exciting way to bring out their creativity! I love observing their excitement after a brief introduction because true learning comes from doing!”

  • We Are BEE Coders!

    Funded Apr 8, 2022

The second graders at our school had some experience with Bee Bots through our regional Education Co-op, but seeing the box show up in their classroom and being told it was theirs to keep was like Christmas morning. There was lots of jumping up and down and squeals!

They were beyond excited to open the box and get everything set up and ready to code. We are fortunate enough to also have the floor mats that make coding the Bee Bots even more enjoyable through teacher direction as to where the bots need to leave from and arrive to.

The students use the Bee Bots on a weekly basis and it is always the highlight of their week! We can't thank the donors enough for helping us instill real world skills at such as early age!”

  • STEM Friday!

    Funded Dec 5, 2021

Our students have been and currently still learning and exploring all the STEM kits that your donations made possible! You can hear the excitement bubbling out of the room. They were so excited to open the boxes when they first arrived! The students have been working in pairs to complete projects with the kits and beg for more STEM time. I believe that means this project was well worth it! They will be able to continue to use the items purchased for many STEM classes to come due to the diversity of the items purchased with your donations! With proper care, our students will be able to enjoy STEM Friday for years to come!”

Our school was chosen as a School of Innovation by the State Dept. of Education in Arkansas. We wanted to use this opportunity to introduce our students to what lies beyond the city limits of our small town. I work with students in Computer Coding and robotics. We have several cities in our surrounding area that have companies looking for applicants who know how to code. It is our hopes that by incorporating as much instruction in coding using Cubelets Mini Makers that we can help our students apply and receive these great paying jobs. There are several online options for teaching coding, but we are lacking the hands-on items to help our students strive for a better future. My goal is to introduce them to careers in the STEM field by allowing them to learn coding and then use coding to program robots. We are currently working with robotic kits on loan from a nearby university. The kits must be returned in the next few weeks. We would like our own. These kits would provide my students the ability to start a robotics club and hopefully compete with other teams. Also, the students want to video their projects and share them with the younger students in hope of fostering a love for technology. We meet three times a week for actual hands on activities and coding. My students can't wait to attend these sessions. With the funding of this project, we will be able to continue the hands-on portion of class. Students must maintain a B average in their classes to attend my class. We have witnessed an increase in class participation and performance because students want to attend my coding and robotics classes. This has been a great academic incentive, but we need our own materials.
