In years past I have witnessed my students love for light. I have had overhead projectors that my students love working on. However, the overhead light is too bright for my students to work with frequently. Adding a real light table to my classroom will allow my students to get hands on with early math skills, and will also allow my kiddos to work their fine motor skills. Both of which, in Pre-K are starting to develop. A light table will enhance their introduction to early skills that will be built upon through out their elementary career. With a light table, they will be able to explore with manipulatives, work on patterning, sorting, sequencing and one to one correspondence. They will also be able to play with light and colors. The excitement that this will bring to our room will bring interest to early skills.
