This classroom project was brought to life by The DonorsChoose Community & an Anonymous Partner and 3 other donors.Come Get Cozy in our Sensory Room!
Funded Sep 17, 2021Thank you so much for all your kind donations. The students that I serve have been extremely happy to see that so many people care, and are willing to provide tools to help them manage their emotions. This room has already made such an impact on my students and their level of crisis has decreased drastically. All of these tools have been such an asset to our school and the community in which we serve.
I look forward to using these tools for years to come at PS 380. During these times, the social emotional well-being of our students have been a main focus in getting back to "normal" from the pandemic. Thanks you again.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Kaminsky
Osmo Genius Kit
Funded Apr 16, 2019My students would like to thank all the donors for their generosity in helping us make our dream a reality by purchasing our Osmo Genius Kits. We are now able to begin our journey by using technology to help us learn in a new and innovative way.
Through these Osmo kits, we have learned how to maintain and grow our mathematical and reading skills. When the boxes arrived, we were so excited and could not wait to open and learn through "play".
Your donation has helped make our dream a reality. We want to thank each and every one of you!”

Tablets for Research & Inquiry
Funded Feb 15, 2019Thank you so much for your donations. It means the world to my students and I that they have materials and resources that align to our new Social Studies Curriculum. Our curriculum is Project-Based Learning, meaning they are not learning through the typical textbook or slides on PowerPoint. They are researching and using the tablets to learn how our society has developed. In our school, we teach Social Studies three times a week. It is typically not one of the "major" subjects but now with this new curriculum, it has evolved into a major subject. When students have this background knowledge and access to the research, it gives them more leverage to succeed.
One of the students had mentioned that because of the tablets, they had learned so much about Hurricane sandy. Something that they would not have been able to learn from our outdated science textbooks. Thanks to your donations, the tablets are allowing our students to stay up to date with the most recent current events.
We honestly couldn't have been able to successfully implement this new curriculum without your help!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Kaminsky
