My classroom consists of 24 children who are from various economic backgrounds. Their abilities to learn vary but they all want to learn, even when faced with challenges in school and at home. My students are a mixture of general education, special needs, and ELL learners. They share a common thread that they have different learning styles that require differentiated tasks in class. My students enjoy working throughout my room and lots of hands on activities. They struggle to meet their goals when they are restricted by their environment. Many of my students have high levels of anxiety and it often interferese with their abilities to focus on tasks. They work best when they can craft. Their drawing or coloring "breaks" during the day help them regulate their emotions. My students are in need of materials to help them in class to regulate their emotions and to have access to art materials of their own.
