Books That Come Alive
Funded Dec 9, 2011I, and all the children from my kindergarten class this year and years to come, thank you for your generous donation. The books and compact disks that you have funded will enable my students to hear classic stories that their parents have heard when they were young. As they read along they will be able to recognize and produce rhyming words, have the ability to hear and manipulate sounds in words and improve word recognition and spelling.
I hope to share these books with the other kindergarten teachers. I can't wait to get started.”

My Space
Funded Sep 30, 2011I, and all the children from my Kindergarten class this year and years to come, thank you for your generous donation. The seat pockets have allowed my students to be more responsible for their school materials. They know where to find the appropriate book when the lesson begins.
They take pride in keeping their materials organized and this allows me to begin each lesson faster and more efficiently. More importantly, the seat pockets provide additional storage space for the many workbooks we use on a daily basis.”

Funded Sep 14, 2010Thank you so much for your generous donations. My class received the privacy partitions and test taking has become so much more exciting. The partitions enable my students to take the assessment tests without worrying about someone copying their answers. It also allows me to accurately evaluate the learning progress of each student. The privacy partitions also keep the students focused and on track. They are able to concentrate and, as a result, increase their learning. ”

Big Beanbag Seats
Funded Apr 18, 2010Thank you very much for your generous donation. When the bean bags arrived the children couldn't contain their excitement. The bean bags are located in our classroom library and the children take turns bringing over a special book that they can read as they sit comfortably on the bean bags. They have all the privacy they need as they navigate through their favorite book. Having the three bean bags provides an extra incentive for good behavior to be rewarded. The children know they earned the opportunity to sit on the bean bags. Thank you again!”

Storytelling Puppets
Funded Mar 5, 2010The children had trouble containing their excitement when they saw the puppets. Their enthusiasm was priceless. We have been using the puppets often and they each take turns playing the different characters. Each child is able to add a bit of their own personality to the puppet. I see how this form of creative play encourages participation from those that are shy and intimidated and teaches those that tend to dominate a discussion to wait their turn to speak. The children are learning strong lessons in cooperation and creativity.”
