  • Great Graphic Novels!

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

Thank you SO much for helping fund this project! With your help, we received tons of brand new graphic novels and sticker activity books. The books have been very popular with students. Every day, kids come look through the library of new books and are reading many of them as their independent reading book.

In addition, some of the books have been used during small group instruction, where students were part of a book club. During book club, we read together and discussed our opinions about each chapter. We also worked on writing lessons using the book, which was really awesome and engaging.

Again, thank you for your kindness!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Schioppo

  • Building Community with Art and Books!

    Funded Apr 8, 2022

Thank you so much for this amazing donation!! With your help, we received new books and art supplies for our classroom. The new books have really enhanced our units by giving us new material to read. Not only do we have new material to read, but it's engaging! Many of the students have spent time reading these new books and choosing them from our bookshelf.

Also, the art supplies have helped create a calming space. It's been so nice to be able to offer a project/craft to a student to help them when they are having a bad day. We've also used the art activities as group projects where students have worked together to create something which has been really fun for them!

Again, thank you for your kind donation and for supporting my classroom.”

  • Speech Room Updates

    Funded Aug 13, 2021

Thank you SO much for helping me secure these items for my classroom this year! With your help, we received a new iPad, an Apple pencil, and many new books. The iPad has been really amazing. With the addition of this iPad, I now have enough iPads for each student to use during small group work. Students have been able to view visual presentations on the iPad that correlate with their reading tasks. It has been so nice for them to have the visual support of what is being presented on the iPad as they read. Also, many students use the iPad for writing support when we do writing tasks.

In addition to the iPad, we received many new books that supplement the students' curriculum. We can't wait to start reading them in the upcoming units of study.

Thank you again for your support!”

  • Computer Chargers Needed!

    Funded Dec 1, 2020

Thank you so much for helping to bring this project to life! Because of you, we were able to get new computer chargers, which is crucial for remote learning. Many of our current chargers were broken or misplaced, and it limited the amount of computers that we could provide to our students. Now, we were able to replace these chargers with this donation so that we can continue to send home necessary technology with students. Thank you again for supporting our students during this challenging time, and for keeping them connected to their school community.”

  • Speech Room Necessities

    Funded Nov 4, 2020

Thank you so much for this incredible and thoughtful donation! With this donation, we received carts to store our materials and an Osmo device. The carts will be super helpful for years to come. They will allow us to store materials and travel between different rooms if necessary. They will also allow us to have everything on hand for students at all times.

The students LOVE the Osmo! It has been a great device not only for educational purposes, but also for social emotional well being. Students have enjoyed being able to engage in comforting activities (such as drawing) using the Osmo, which has helped them greatly during these challenging times. We will be sure to use the Osmo for years to come.

    Thank you again!”

  • Smartboard to Go

    Funded Jun 28, 2020

Thank you so much for this donation! With your help, we are able to socially distance our speech classroom AND all see the board! The mini projector is great because not only is it portable, but it's powerful! It has made speech therapy so much better. Now, we can all see the videos that I show to teach certain skills without having to share one computer screen. Additionally, the Apple TV allows me to easily cast and share my screen to show demonstrations.

Thank you again for greatly improving our speech therapy room and making this difficult year a little easier for myself and my students!”

    Ms. Schioppo

  • We Want Osmo!

    Funded Jun 12, 2020

THANK YOU!! I could not believe it when I found out this project was funded. Although school has not yet started, I was able to set up the new iPad and Osmo system for when we get back to our buildings in the upcoming weeks. All I have to say is- WOW!! The Osmo is not only a fun and interactive way to practice key literacy skills such as decoding with my students, but the Osmo also acts as a powerful projector for the iPad. With this technology, I am able to demonstrate skills for students in real-time when we are remote teaching by using the Osmo to project to my computer screen. This is going to be so valuable to teach students skills such as annotating texts and decoding. I can't wait to show them! I know they will be so excited. Thank you again for your support!!”

  • A Word a Day

    Funded Jul 31, 2020

Thank you so much for this amazingly kind donation!!! Although school has not yet started, I was able to read "Bringing Words to Life" this summer and enjoyed it very much. The practices mentioned in this book will be so useful in person and remote in teaching vocabulary to my students. I've already started thinking about how to incorporate the strategies from this book into upcoming lessons. Additionally, the workbooks have already been put to use to plan for lessons at the start of the school year. I can't wait to show my students these materials and plan many new and exciting vocabulary lessons. Thank you for your support, it truly means a lot to me!”

  • Boogie Boarding Our Way to Reading and Writing

    Funded Mar 6, 2020

THANK YOU! My students absolutely love this product. They helped me open them right before COVID-19 closed our school, and we were able to use them quite a few times before we left! The Boogie Boards are so much fun. My students were so engaged in working during class. They even provided the perfect desk visual to aid students in the topic we were working on. Students have been requesting to do work with the Boogie Boards, and take great pride in caring for these new items. Again, thank you for such a kind donation.”

  • The Place to Be

    Funded Feb 11, 2020

Thank you so much for your kind donation! You have allowed my students to have a private and inviting space for speech therapy. The students were so happy when they learned about the room divider that we received as well as the beautiful book ends to brighten up our space. Although we did not have much time to use our new room due to COVID-19 school closures, I know it will be there set up and waiting for us to come back. Again, thank you so much for your kindness. My students and I truly appreciate it!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Schioppo

I would like my students to be able to have resources to demonstrate their learning in a hands-on way. Whether it is creating a presentation on a poster, or showing learning through drawing, these materials would allow them the opportunity to do so. Additionally, I would like to offer my students a space to engage in service based projects after school, specifically creating cards for organizations that donate to children's hospitals. At our school, we live by our school "habits," one of which being compassion. Students would be able to show compassion for others by completing art based service projects. I am asking for a variety of art supplies including markers, newsprint, card stock, art mini packs and fluffs.
