• Getting Fit with PE!

  Funded Sep 20, 2024

  Thank you for donating PE equipment to our classroom! We were always having to borrow equipment from other grade levels, so it's very exciting and nice to have our own equipment to use during our PE time. We are now fully stocked with a kickball, handball, two basketballs, a volleyball, a soccer ball, and jump ropes. The students are so excited to have options to play what they want outside when we have PE or vote on a particular game to play against each other. We also have had competitions in jumping rope as well and playing games against other classrooms. Being physically active is very important in staying happy and healthy. It's been such a blessing to finally have PE equipment to call out own to help us stay physically fit! This equipment is well made and will last for years to come. • School Supplies, Oh My!

  Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom! Basic supplies such as pencils, candy, and a working pencil sharpener are essentials needed to motivate students and help them thrive. Our current pencil sharpener was not working well and was on its last leg, so our class was REALLY excited when the new pencil sharpener arrived. They all loved how the sharpener worked quickly and had a blue light turn on to signal it was done sharpening. The candy was also a huge hit in our classroom. We use a program called iReady to help them practice math and reading skills that they are behind on or need to be challenged on. As a teacher, I am also able to assign lessons to help support a current standard we are working on. In order to motivate them to work on this program and get better at their skills, any student who gets a 100% on the iReady lesson receives a piece of candy. The students really appreciate the donation, and I do too! It's the little things that can make a huge impact on learning and classroom management. Thank you again for making this happen.”

• Class Novel Study: Because of Winn-Dixie

  Thank you so much for donating to our classroom! The novel, Because of Winn-Dixie, has been a hit and success with our class. The students were highly engaged throughout the novel and learned many key standards while doing so. They learned about character development, new vocabulary, made inferences, and learned many themes from reading this wonderful novel. Your impact on helping my classroom will last a lifetime. The student have become more independent readers and have also discovered a new author they love. Thank you again for your generous donation and helping my class grow into strong readers.”

• Class Novel Study

  The moment The Tiger Rising was put into my students hands, they were over the moon to have their own copy. They were immediately engaged with the book—the characters, setting, plot, and the story line was something they could relate to on many levels. We read two chapters at a time and had excellent daily class discussions.

  As we continued to read, many students read ahead, not wanting to stop. I heard multiple discussions in the morning about what happened in the story and that they wanted to keep reading. I loved knowing that another class was highly engaged with this novel. We learned so much from this book about characters changing, how the setting influences the mood, text to self connections, the many themes the story taught us about life, and more.

  I know this book inspired many students to love reading more. Many have now checked out other books written by Kate DiCamillo since they loved reading The Tiger Rising so much! Thanks again for supporting our class and to help foster a love of reading!”

• Coding with Sphero+

• Learning With Technology

  Thank you once again for donating to our project!! My students have really enjoyed using our new technology in the classroom. They have been able to do more research, add to their research, and use the tablets as an incentive when they have completed their assignments.

  The part that is most exciting of using the Amazon Fire tablets in the classroom that my students are able to have access to technology when they would like to. They are able to enhance their knowledge about various topics were are studying and can research topics of interest. They are also able to code using different programs that we use at our school.
