The classroom we were put in has old, torn carpet but is very large. Using a gathering rug such as the one chosen will focus their attention at large group learning time, which will undoubtedly increase their early literacy and math skills. Having a special place so sit that indicates boundaries will help with their spatial awareness and sense of personal space. This aids in preventing and minimizing challenging behaviors during instructional time. The brightand inviting rug will also help with transition times and will help my students to learn colors and shapes in a truly fun and meaningful way!
