  • Boost Our Fine Motor Skills Through Creativity

    Funded Feb 11, 2023

Thank you so much for helping my students enhance reír creativity while learning .Since many of our families are low income the school does not have it in their budget to purchase items like these . Thank you again . The children really appreciate it !!! I will post pictures of the children using the items !”

  • Learning To Ready While Having Fun

    Funded Jul 30, 2022

The students enjoyed the books that were donated to the classroom. Since they are on their level they can read them independently.

Also the kids liked playing with the alphabots . They can say the letters , and even spell words with them .

The children are able to practice their sight words and reading comprehension with their daily practice books. This eliminates a lot of copying and helps the children .

Lastly , they can make robots and monsters with the toys , which is good for their fine motor skills. When they are done they can write narrative stories about the robots and monsters . Thanks again”

    With gratitude,

  • Help Us Get Some Flexible Seating Options

    Funded Oct 31, 2018

My students really enjoyed using the wobbly stools to complete their work . Since many of them have adhd these stools help then focus and give them the ability to move around .

The students also like using the individual lily pads on the carpet. They give the children the sense of their own space , which enables them to sit on the carpet and listen to the teacher .

Some of the students use the bands that attach to their chairs . This way they can kick them while they are sitting so their feet can be moving around . They also do not kick other students since they can kick the bands.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Stufflestreet

  • Help us get Flexible Seating for our special needs classroom!!

    Funded Jul 24, 2020

Thank you so much for the flexible seating . Many of my students have various disabilities such as adhd which makes sitting on a hard chair difficult. Now they can use the wobble stools and move around while they are working . Some of the children are able to use the bumpy seat cushions which provides a sensory support for them while they are working .

In addition we received soft lily pads for the class . The children use this while sitting on the carpet. It enables them to have their own space so that they can focus and learn more .”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Stufflestreet

  • Technology in our K-2 Special Day Classroom

    Funded May 5, 2020

Thank you so much for the tablets. My students love to learn from reading and math apps that I have downloaded. They use these tablets at an independent station so I am able to work with another small group on math and reading .

When they have their earned free choice they often choose these tablets to play games on or even to go on you tube and watch educational videos . They are becoming more independent using the tech devices .

The students are also learning how to charge them at the end of the day so they can use them the following day

    Thanks again”
