These materials that I have selected will greatly enhance our classroom and our curriculum. Every item I posted fits into one of our centers (Science, Art, Blocks, Writing, Sensory, Math, or Dramatic Play). Each of these items will be used countless times by my PreK scholars! Many of the items are what we refer to as 'manipulatives' that the children can actually play with and can hold.
Manipulatives and games are so important for young learners, as they make the lessons fun and come alive! Having games and manipulatives that the children can use helps imprint the day's lesson or topic. It brings the instruction to life in a fun and kid friendly way.
The dress-up clothes will fit our Community Helpers unit perfectly! My PreK scholars love to play with blocks and having 'Homes Around the World' wooden blocks and 'Career Wooden Blocks' are perfect manipulatives for when we discuss culture, geography, and our hopes and dreams. The Counting Tree would greatly help my young scholars learn to count in a fun and exciting way. The color paddles will help my scholars learn not only their colors, but what colors you make when you mix them. They will have so much fun learning with these new assets to our classroom!
