One Less Worry
Funded Feb 28, 2025The kids were overjoyed seeing the variety of snacks I was able to give this morning. Who knew they'd be overjoyed to get Pringles! With your donation, we will have snack for weeks.
I try to provide snack daily during our long, early mornings. Having all these goodies get them through the morning while we read, write, and study social studies.
We also have state testing coming up, and students seem to need snack more then ever on those days!
Thank you again for your generosity towards my class and the Anchorage community.”

Inspiring Writers
Funded Oct 23, 2024Thank you for your donation for our writing supplies. We've been able to create work throughout third quarter, keeping it organized through all the stages of writing.
The writing folders have kept our writing pieces from being misplaced whether on the floor or in desks. We have a final project displayed that took us a few weeks of reading and researching. Having a place to keep our work safe was so important.
Of course the pencils and erasers were used and many kids were happy to have them in their supply box! I was able to give numerous pencils and an eraser to each student to keep.
Some projects we finished using pen or typed. The pens came in handy when students wanted to show off their final project.”

Supplies Are Needed
Funded Jun 26, 2024Thank you for your donation. Teaching in one of the most diverse school districts in the nation, have the tools for students to express themselves and they way they see themselves is so beneficial.
My students were able to create their beautiful portraits, with the colors of the world! I see my students in these drawing, pride on their faces!
These portraits will be used for our Open House, so families will be able to see these amazing faces. I also plan to place them up on our classroom's walls. Thank you again!”

Organization Help Before MS
Funded Dec 30, 2023With your donation, we've been able to set up our binders! We've organized and simplified. Students no longer have papers all over their desk, inside and out. Completed, handed-in work has improved. We do a lot of journaling and interactive notebooks. Having these extra notebooks have been helpful when students need another one, or when we get new students who don't have any supplies.
Hopefully this will help my students to be even more successful next year in 5th grade, their last year in elementary.”

Fuel For Growing Brains
Funded Aug 3, 2023My students are thrilled everyday when I offer snack! Honestly, they can't wait and usually ask after recess for the delicious and healthy snacks!
Most families are struggling financially, and this has helped alleviate the burden of asking for classroom sacks.
Also, many of my students don't eat lunch, usually because what's being offered are things they don't like. Because of this, snack has become even more important.
After having snack, students are fueled and ready for our math block. They walkout of school full of food and knowledge.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Alaska Department of Education & Early Development.Classroom Reading Nook
Funded Jun 30, 2023My students are loving the bean bags and nook I've been able to create this school year. We try to read independently daily, and students love getting the chance to be cozy and just read, no questions, no test.
The added books have been amazing, too! Having a variety of genres and reading levels have made students more intrested in reading and allows them to chose a variety of stories.
Due to only two bean bags, I've set up a system, which will allow every student a chance to use. My future plan would be to get more for more students to enjoy at a time.”
