Funded Oct 29, 2024We have been using the new resources to set up a classroom vocation centered around making and selling real lemonade. The specialized tools, like the cutter and smasher, have been instrumental in ensuring all students, including those with physical limitations, can actively participate in the process. Each student has a role, whether it's preparing the lemonade, personalizing cups, or organizing supplies. We also purchased syrups to offer a variety of flavors, making the experience more fun and engaging. This project has been a fantastic way to teach vocational skills while fostering teamwork and communication.
When the students first saw the materials and tools, their excitement was palpable. They were eager to start using the cutter and smasher, and it was incredible to see how these tools made the process accessible for everyone. The personalized cups were a particular highlight, as students enjoyed creating unique designs and seeing their work appreciated by the school community. Their sense of pride and accomplishment has been evident throughout the project.
Next, we plan to expand this vocational activity by refining our operations and incorporating new elements, such as creating promotional materials for our lemonade stand. This will allow students to practice additional skills, like advertising and engaging with customers. Our ultimate goal is to make this a sustainable classroom business that provides continuous learning opportunities while connecting with the broader school community. The support from these resources has made a significant difference, and we are excited about the possibilities moving forward.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Lauren
