  • Sensory Success: A Rocking Chair for Calming and Focus

    Funded Oct 27, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous contribution to our classroom's rocking chair! This thoughtful addition has quickly become an essential part of our sensory corner, offering immense support to our students. The rocking chair provides a soothing space where they can find comfort and calm, which is especially helpful during moments of heightened emotions or sensory overload.

The impact of this chair has been remarkable. It allows our students to regulate their emotions more effectively, creating a positive and supportive environment for learning and growth. Whether it's used as a quiet retreat or a calming tool during transitions, the rocking chair has made a noticeable difference in helping our students feel more centered and ready to engage. We are deeply grateful for your kindness and support in enhancing our classroom and making such a meaningful impact on our students' well-being.”

  • Help Us Get Paid With Lemonade!

    Funded Oct 29, 2024

We have been using the new resources to set up a classroom vocation centered around making and selling real lemonade. The specialized tools, like the cutter and smasher, have been instrumental in ensuring all students, including those with physical limitations, can actively participate in the process. Each student has a role, whether it's preparing the lemonade, personalizing cups, or organizing supplies. We also purchased syrups to offer a variety of flavors, making the experience more fun and engaging. This project has been a fantastic way to teach vocational skills while fostering teamwork and communication.

When the students first saw the materials and tools, their excitement was palpable. They were eager to start using the cutter and smasher, and it was incredible to see how these tools made the process accessible for everyone. The personalized cups were a particular highlight, as students enjoyed creating unique designs and seeing their work appreciated by the school community. Their sense of pride and accomplishment has been evident throughout the project.

Next, we plan to expand this vocational activity by refining our operations and incorporating new elements, such as creating promotional materials for our lemonade stand. This will allow students to practice additional skills, like advertising and engaging with customers. Our ultimate goal is to make this a sustainable classroom business that provides continuous learning opportunities while connecting with the broader school community. The support from these resources has made a significant difference, and we are excited about the possibilities moving forward.”

  • Simple Robots

    Funded Feb 22, 2023

I am thrilled to share with you the incredible impact your generous contribution has had on our students through the STEM project focused on building simple robots. Your support has allowed us to provide our students with valuable resources and experiences that have transformed their learning and inspired their curiosity.

With the donated funds, we were able to purchase a variety of materials, including robotics kits, red cups, battery packs, and motors, which enabled our students to design and construct their own robots. They worked in teams, utilizing the red cups as the robot's body, connecting the motors to enable movement, and attaching the battery packs for power. It was incredible to witness their creativity as they transformed ordinary red cups into functioning robots. The excitement in the room was palpable as the students eagerly tested their robots. Witnessing their creations come to life was a truly empowering moment for them.”

Thank you so much for your generous donations. Our school's top concern is the safety of our students. The donated walkie-talkies have also helped us to quickly connect with other staff members in the event of an emergency. We are so grateful for these items. • Digital Curriculum

    Funded Dec 27, 2020

Thank you so much for your support! Thanks to your generous donations, I was able to purchase digital materials for my remote learning students. Remote learning can be quite challenging for students with autism. Your donations have made it possible for me to make lessons accessible and engaging. I have purchased activities from a website called "boom learning". This website offers students interactive digital activities that can be completed as part of the whole group or individual instruction. Having access to this program has enhanced my students learning experience.”

  • Sensory Room Furniture

    Funded Dec 3, 2019

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your kind donations. Your generous donations have enabled me to provide my students with a therapeutic space that allows them to decompress so that they'll be ready to learn. The large bean-bags have helped my students receive necessary sensory input by providing body awareness. This helps students to better organize their brains and focus. Time in the sensory room has helped my students to be more effective in following directions and has drastically decreased behaviors in the classroom. Thank you for your generosity.”

  • Fire 7 Tablets For Awesome Students!

    Funded Jan 24, 2019

words cannot express how thankful we are for your generous contributions. These tablets are giving my students access to educational applications that help to solidify concepts that are being taught in class. It is also serving as a motivator for students to complete classroom assignments. These tablets are also serving as a wonderful tool that my students can use during their "free-play" period. Many of my students have limited fine-motor abilities. The touch-screens on the tablets help them to easily access applications without the fine-motor demands presented by using traditional desktop computers. It is important that students with autism have access to various motivators and thanks to you we can now offer tablets as an option!!”

  • Let's Get Physical! Students In Need OfGym Equipment.

    Funded May 13, 2018

your donations have made it possible for my students to have fun and productive free-play. It is amazing to see how the faces of my students light up when we play games with the parachute. These parachute games have helped them learn how to follow directions while having fun. It has also served as a wonderful social activity for my students. When my students saw the jump ropes, colorful bouncing balls and the parachute, they were so thrilled and eager to start using these resources. Parachute time is a big hit in my classroom! Our next project is to take steps toward making our classroom an autism friendly environment. This will include independent work stations, a section for independent reading and an area that allows the teacher to provide direct instruction.”
